SINGAPORE’S NEWEST LUXURY DESIGN HOTEL OPENS ITS DOORS ON 08 JULY 2010

The Fullerton Heritage Singapore is delighted to announce the much anticipated opening of Marina Bay’s first and only waterfront hotel, The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore on 08 July 2010.
 
Comprising 100 rooms, five individually-themed suites and a luxurious Presidential Suite, each with magnificent marina views, balconies and sundecks, the hotel offers luxury bespoke design elements to travellers visiting Singapore’s latest new district.
 
LCL Architects, the group behind the hotel’s inspiring glass facade, is also responsible for the creation of the luxury hotel rooms, whilst the arrival experience and restaurants are the latest projects by design wunderkind, Andre Fu.
 
Guests will enter the hotel through a 17-metre wide lobby at the historic Clifford Pier, an important heritage site which saw the arrival of many of Singapore’s early settlers.  The hotel's glamorous and exquisite interior designs are richly steeped in Singapore’s vibrant history with Fu using vintage nautical maps and commissioned contemporary art that reflect the celebration of heritage and modernity in the Lion City.
 
Utilising materials and designs such as polished rosewood and latticed screens, as well as leather and chrome, LCL Architects has created an elegant and refined atmosphere in the bedrooms with a predominantly natural palette throughout. This classical look is combined with state-of-the-art in-room technology to ensure that the hotel’s modern travellers are never out of touch.
 
Each of the hotel’s six suites, including the Presidential Suite, are individually themed to reflect the wealth of cultures in Singapore’s cosmopolitan population, including Chinese, Malay, Indian, Peranakan and Colonial and are situated on the upper three storeys of the hotel, in prime-angled positions facing the stunning views of Marina Bay waterfront. Named after the ex-Governors of the Straits Settlement (Sir Hugh Clifford, Sir Shenton Thomas, Sir William Cleaver Francis Robinson, Sir John Anderson and Major General Sir William Orfeur Cavenagh), each will be adorned with bespoke artwork and antiques alongside contemporary pieces that embody the spirit unique to the suite’s theme.
 
The hotel’s trio of culinary experiences, designed by Andre Fu, include the signature restaurant Clifford, The Landing Point and Lantern.

Hard Rock Hotel Penang celebrates its first Founders’ Day, a Hard Rock birthday bash and worldwide annual celebration.  This year, this significant date marks Hard Rock’s 39th year since it started operating the first café in London in 1971. 

“At Hard Rock Hotel Penang, we strive to deliver an ultimate rock ‘n’ roll experience to all our guest through our mantra – ‘Love All, Serve All’, ‘Take time to be Kind’, ‘All is One’ and ‘Save The Planet’.  This Founders’ Day, we take the opportunity to celebrate our birthday along these lines in our effort to create positive team spirit with a little bit of fun as well as to giving back to the community”, said John Primmer, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Penang.

GETTING DOWN AND DIRTY
“All is One” and with that, the management team took the step to strip off their title and joined the staff to rock our guests!  20 management staff including the General Manager, directors and managers were assigned to various departments and performed their new duty for one day. 

“Every staff regardless of departments is all assets to the organization and their effort is appreciated” said Primmer, who was playing the role of a kitchen steward on Founder’s Day.

TAKE TIME TO BE KIND
Celebrating Hard Rock’s Founders’ Day, Hard Rock Hotel Penang continues to remember the underprivileged community. 30 children from Rumah Seri Cahaya were brought to the hotel for hosted lunch at the Pizzeria and enjoyed a fun-filled day at the hotel by the pool as well as participated in arts and crafts activities.  Hard Rock Hotel Penang provided swimwear for these children so that they are able to enjoy the pool facilities.  One week before Founders’ Day, the Human Resources team had also conducted a drive to collect contributions from all the hotel staff for basic necessities for this home which was presented to the founder Rumah Seri Cahaya, Ms Kartini. 

WE ARE GOING AT RM19.71
At the Hard Rock Café, the day-long celebration offers patrons a special set menu at RM19.71 nett for one day only, commemorating the 1971 birth year of Hard Rock!  Each set consist of the original HRC Hamburger served with Seasoned Fries, Apple Pie and Milk Shake, a meal hearty enough to satisfy anyone’s hunger. 

THE BURGER CHALLENGE
Yes, it’s all about the burgers at Hard Rock.  20 fanatic burger eaters will compete and find out who is able to finish our specially made double decker burger within in the fastest time.  Registration and promotion of this burger challenge were done solely via our official Facebook page which at the moment has over 32,000 fans.  The winners walked away with room vouchers at Hard Rock Hotel Penang and dining vouchers at Hard Rock Café Penang.

New Bar Area, New DJ Booth and New Menus Set tivo up for a Summer of Fun
 
tivo, Wyndham Street’s popular dining bar is preparing to throw open its doors for a summer of fun after a mini makeover brings the Milan-inspired hotspot bang up to date with an extended  bar area, refreshed decor and extensive new light bites and cocktail menu.
 
Regulars will also notice a prominent new DJ space reserved for tivo’s resident and guest mixers when it officially reopens on 29 May. 
 
“The chic spirit of tivo will remain the same but with a fresh new feel and style,” said aqua restaurant group founder Mr. David Yeo.
 
The new and enlarged DJ booth, in particular, will allow more interaction between tivo’s renowned resident DJs and guests everyday from 930pm (1030pm on Friday and Saturday) onwards till late, for example, DJ Ryan from South Africa, who was the winner of last year’s Quest for DJ and specialises in ‘Afrika minimal house’ will continue to play.
 
Other resident DJs to continue will include DJ Kai, a trumpeter who uniquely free-styles on the horn and vocals while keeping the beat pumping, DJ Helen, popular for her ‘Nu Club’ blend of groovy house, mixing nu-Jazz, funk and Latin beats, and DJ Tom – bringing the latest and greatest in tech and tribal house flavours from across the globe.

Tropical Orchid is a refreshing combination of mints, strawberries, grapes and orange slices with Havana rum and triple sec topped with orange juice and Prosecco brut for those feeling fruity, or try Paulo’s Mido Sour  straight from aqua london –   Ketel one vodka with Midori, Frangelico, sake, yuzu honey and egg white with toasted hazelnuts on the rock.

Armani Hotel Dubai

The world’s first hotel developed by Armani Hotels & Resorts, in Burj Khalifa will open on April 21st, 2010. An unprecedented luxury hospitality venture, Armani Hotel Dubai is the first hotel to be launched under the collaboration between Emaar Properties PJSC and Giorgio Armani S.p.A.

Armani Hotel Dubai will be home to eight unique dining experiences.
