Wild Wadi helps set world record with the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson

Wild Wadi Waterpark is proud to have participated in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL) and set a new Guinness World Record™. The event took place on Thursday, 3rd June 2010, at more than 100 aquatic facilities around the globe. People from Zambia and Germany, from California to Florida, from Denver to Dubai – all participated at EXACTLY the same time to build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning.

New Bar Area, New DJ Booth and New Menus Set tivo up for a Summer of Fun
tivo, Wyndham Street’s popular dining bar is preparing to throw open its doors for a summer of fun after a mini makeover brings the Milan-inspired hotspot bang up to date with an extended  bar area, refreshed decor and extensive new light bites and cocktail menu.
Regulars will also notice a prominent new DJ space reserved for tivo’s resident and guest mixers when it officially reopens on 29 May. 
“The chic spirit of tivo will remain the same but with a fresh new feel and style,” said aqua restaurant group founder Mr. David Yeo.
The new and enlarged DJ booth, in particular, will allow more interaction between tivo’s renowned resident DJs and guests everyday from 930pm (1030pm on Friday and Saturday) onwards till late, for example, DJ Ryan from South Africa, who was the winner of last year’s Quest for DJ and specialises in ‘Afrika minimal house’ will continue to play.
Other resident DJs to continue will include DJ Kai, a trumpeter who uniquely free-styles on the horn and vocals while keeping the beat pumping, DJ Helen, popular for her ‘Nu Club’ blend of groovy house, mixing nu-Jazz, funk and Latin beats, and DJ Tom – bringing the latest and greatest in tech and tribal house flavours from across the globe.
Meanwhile, Mr. Paulo Figueiredo – aqua restaurant group’s Mixologist – has ventured back to Hong Kong from ‘The Big Smoke’ to concoct a stylish list of aperitivo cocktails that will be available throughout the summer months priced at HKD76 flat.
Tropical Orchid is a refreshing combination of mints, strawberries, grapes and orange slices with Havana rum and triple sec topped with orange juice and Prosecco brut for those feeling fruity, or try Paulo’s Mido Sour  straight from aqua london –   Ketel one vodka with Midori, Frangelico, sake, yuzu honey and egg white with toasted hazelnuts on the rock.
The new summer menu will compliment tivo’s existing light dishes concept while retaining aqua’s philosophy of using only the freshest produce and choicest ingredients.  On offer will be the Wagyu Beef Pizza featuring wagyu beef, crispy garlic, baby cress and roasted shallot jus (served without cheese) ($188), Cannelloni, baked cannelloni stuffed with cuttlefish mousse, warm squid salad and squid ink vinaigrette ($158) and Tortelli farciti alle patate with home-made potato tortelli with veal and Italian sausage ragout ($138) and many more.
tivo will continue to be one of Hong Kong’s most well stocked wine bars, offering a variety of 10 red and 9 white wine by the glass, plus daily wine specials and some of the most competitively priced champagnes in Central.

Armani Hotel Dubai

The world’s first hotel developed by Armani Hotels & Resorts, in Burj Khalifa will open on April 21st, 2010. An unprecedented luxury hospitality venture, Armani Hotel Dubai is the first hotel to be launched under the collaboration between Emaar Properties PJSC and Giorgio Armani S.p.A.

An integral component of Burj Khalifa every element of the Armani Hotel Dubai has been personally designed by global fashion legend, Giorgio Armani.

Armani Hotel Dubai will further also establish Burj Khalifa as one of the world’s unmatched luxury destinations.”

Armani Hotel Dubai will be home to eight unique dining experiences. The hotel will also include Armani/Privé, an upscale lounge, and the world’s first in-hotel Armani/SPA, which offers 12,000 square feet of wellness, where guests can enjoy treatment rooms, thermal suites, a fitness centre and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel will also be home to the Armani/Dolci chocolates store; an Armani/Fiori, a florist; and an Armani/Galleria showcasing select couture accessories.

Covering over an area of 269,000 sq ft, across the concourse, ground floor and levels 1 to 8 and levels 38 & 39 of Burj Khalifa, Armani Hotel Dubai has 160 rooms.

Armani Hotel Dubai’s opening will be followed by the launch of Armani Hotel Milano in Italy; Armani Resort in Marrakech, Morocco; and Armani Residences villas in Marassi, Egypt.
