Horace SS 2011

Spring/Summer 2011 is inspired by the 80s and 90s Reggae movement mixed in with a little Salt n Pepa chic. Geometric animal and rainbow prints, soft leathers mixed with prints, bright loose knits and stonewash denims sit with the traditional dark knits and leathers Horace is famed for.

Horace is Adam Entwisle, Emma Hales and Phil Grisewood. Over the years Horace has lost none of the powerful yet unassuming cool that has seen
the collection progress from friends doing what they love, to an international brand sold in the most progressive stores across the World. With both a design studio in Bali as well as in London, Horace embodies the better of two amazing cultures. It has become a creative mix of primitive Balinese handcraft and British unassuming cool. Adam Entwisle and Emma Hales met in the early days of Art College collaborating with stylists and editors. Entwisle launched his own
label with great success after St Martins. Having shown at London Fashion Week for a few years, Entwisle spent time in Bali to find a new way of working. Hales joined him from cult label Buddhist Punk, taking on board her unique understated style.

Together they created Horace, part of a menswear capsule idea prompted by Nicola Formenchetti while working on Entwisles last London show. Horace’s nonchalant, edgy style has attracted celebrity fans such as Kate Moss, Jennifer Anniston and Agyness Deyn to name a few.

Piquadro Chinese New Year Selections 2011

Chinese New Year and the traditional Chinese lucky colour of red goes together hand-in-hand, and this year, Piquadro sticks to this tradition with scarlet for her and carmine for him.

This Chinese New Year 2011, Piquadro is fielding two brilliant shades of red on bags and pochettes as well as on overnight bags and trolleys, both for men and for women, to provide the sophisticated and edgy traveller with the opportunity to celebrate the most respected festival in China with gifts signed by Piquadro.

From the elegant Shimmer line of day bags and female briefcases, the item of choice for her is the quick-change bag, a refined under-arm bag which, by means of its removable shoulder straps, can change into a trendy rucksack. The alternatives for the sharp traveller are the trolley pilot and the pochette. The former is the accessory to give to a woman who travels for business and wishes to express her femininity through the most functional of accessories, an overnight bag with wheels and a deluxe laptop compartment. The latter is a tiny flat handbag that complements any elegant dress on party evenings. All models are entirely created in ultra-soft, natural-grain leather and are completed with refined zips and metal finishings.

From the Blue Square business line of briefcases, large bags and trolleys in seasoned leather with contrasting borders, the present of choice for him is an unfailingly successful evergreen, the classic computer-carrying briefcase with two-hook flap, a Piquadro best seller to which the red of the Chinese New Year confers a touch of refined exclusiveness. Alternatively or in combination, Piquadro’s new trolley pilot, an elegant computer-carrying overnight bag with wheels and separate compartments to contain necessary personal items during any brief business trip.

Interview of Peter Philips

Global Creative Director of Chanel Makeup

What was your inspiration for the look of this show?
« Focus on the eyes ! Karl showed me a sketch which set the tone. I decided that the models would have deep, dark smoky eyes.
I was inspired by the graphic design of the decor, a black and white French garden, to create a look of contrasts. A black, not that black, and a white, not that white. A makeup with a play on lights and reflexions, very graphic dark and white lines, with small touches of fresh and luminous colours.

On the eyes I used the darker shade of the « 4 Ombres – Regard Perlé » from the Spring 2011 collection « Les Perles de CHANEL ». The intensity of the pearly black and the black-grey-green reflections of this eye shadow accentuate the luminosity of the eye and work well with the changing tones of the accessories.
The eyelashes are curled with the «Recourbe cils de CHANEL » and coated with the « Mascara Inimitable Waterproof Noir ». The eyebrows are sculptured with the new « Crayons Sourcils ».

The models faces are made up with the foundation « Pro Lumière » which gives a professional natural satin-like makeup effect, while respecting the models’ skin-tones. The temples are polished with « Poudre Lumière Perlée » from the collection « Tourbillon d’Eclat » (Specific for Asia) so as to make them more luminous. Applied between the blush and the eye shadow, it enhances the intensity of the smoky eyes.

To evoke the freshness of a stroll in a garden, a touch of blush « Joues Contraste- Espiègle » (Spring 2011 Collection) is applied to the cheeks.

On the lips, the new lipstick « Rouge Coco Shine – Boy» brings a dash of tender pink, giving a subtle dewy-lip effect.

To accentuate the very graphic intention of the makeup, I chose for the feet ´ Le Vernis- Pearl Drop ª, a pearly white with golden sparkles which fits perfectly with the white marble gravels, and on the hands, « Le Vernis – Black Pearl ª which gives the impression that the models have grey pearls at the tips of their fingers. (Both these nail polishes are part of the Spring 2011 Collection « Les Perles de CHANEL »).

A vertical black line was drawn at the root of the hair with the liquid eye-liner « Ecriture de CHANEL » giving the final signature

Ermanno Scervino Advertising Campaign

Theodora Richards plays a Royal Rocker in Ermanno Scervino Spring/Summer 2011 Advertising Campaign

Italian fashion brand Ermanno Scervino, one of the top exclusive brands of THE SWANK, rocks this Spring/Summer 2011 season with its newly-released advertising campaign, aiming to evoke the brand’s contemporary royal rock style while also unveiling its classic femininity to the max.

Raising the heat with international model Theodora Richards, who is also the daughter of the mythical rock n’ roll band Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, the black-and-white shots taken by photographer-director Francesco Carrozzini reveal a woman who liberally expresses her femininity with a royal-cool elegance in a play of whites, macramé finishes and transparencies of fabrics in the brand’s latest collection.

Lingerie collection summer 2011

Our heroine is a young girl from a good family who daydreams about being locked inside a Parisian department store and, letting her imagination take her through all the floors, becoming, in turn: A Chinese princess under her parasol (Georgette), a contortionist (Initiale), a window dummy (Cupcake, Georgette), a hat seller (Esquisse), on the platform waiting for the Orient Express (Daisy), a Parisian cabaret pin-up (Just’ Glam), a beauty queen (Choisya), an explorer in the Sahara (Just a Kiss) and a management secretary (Betty)…But what she loves most is beautiful underwear.

She loves beautiful materials, which are soft on the skin, Her breasts look wonderful in satin; lace and embroidery, make her even prettier. What she loves most is beautiful underwear. If she could, that's all she would wear. All day long. But it’s not possible, as she’s a young girl, from a good family.
