To further inject Hong Kong with the dazzling spirit of Art of the Wild, Perrier-Jouët collaborates with British designer Bethan Laura Wood to present her vibrant creation HyperNature at Old Bailey restaurant in Tai Kwun. The seventh instalment of Perrier-Jouët’s annual partnership with Design Miami, HyperNature brings its radiant presence and purest expression of Art of the Wild into the city’s heritage and arts centre.

Perrier-Jouët Art of the Wild Drinks & Co Pop-Up

An icon of the Maison, the Belle Epoque is produced only in years when the seasons have aligned perfectly, as judged by Cellar Master Hervé Deschamps. The cuvée is a captivating demonstration not only of the art of blending, but also of the exceptional quality of the Maison Perrier- Jouët vineyard. This March, the House unveils two exquisite vintage masterpieces: The Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006 and Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2012.

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006

The Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006 is the Maison’s rarest and most precious cuvée. Made from 1 single harvest, 1 grape variety and 1 terroir, the Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006 is the perfect expression of Perrier-Jouët style – floral and pure.

Over 200 years, Maison Perrier-Jouët has developed and preserved a uniquely precious vineyard rated at 99.2% on the champagne Cru scale. The vineyard includes the best plots for Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs in Cramant and Avize. A signature of the Perrier-Jouët style, the Chardonnays are carefully selected in the heart of the Grand Cru village of Cramant. Here, the parcels benefit from exposure to the first rays of the early morning sun to encourage a slow and even ripening of the grapes, offering generous aromas of white flowers and a delicate well-balanced bouquet.

The Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006 is the result of a year of contrasts – a long, dry and cold winter was followed by a mild rainy spring. Summer started in June with high temperatures and irregular rain, before a hot and dry September enabled the grapes to reach the perfect maturity for harvest just before autumn. The result is a cuvee is seductively fresh and floral on the nose, possessing acacia, hawthorn, lilac blossom and elderberry notes with hints of honey, lemon and poached pear. On the palate, the Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006 caresses like satin, lingering on and on.

“Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006 expresses the purity of Chardonnay: floral and intricate with the brilliance and rarity of a yellow diamond.” – Hervé Deschamps, Perrier-Jouët Cellar Master

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2012

Though Maison Perrier-Jouët is famed for its Chardonnay vineyard, it also possesses exceptional plots of Pinot Noir – as magnificently demonstrated by the Perrier- Jouët Belle Epoque 2012 which combines the two grape varieties in almost equal proportions.

After a mild winter and cool spring, the summer was hot and bathed in sunshine throughout harvest. The 2012 harvest provided beautiful bunches of healthy grapes picked at full maturity, creating an elegant and seductive wine. After aging for five years in the Maison’s cellars, this cuvée reveals a richness that fully expresses the floral complexity of Chardonnay.

Characterised by a pale, translucent gold, with radiant clarity and subtle glints of apple green, Belle Epoque 2012 has distinctive notes of white flowers that combine with white peaches, crisp pears and lemon on the nose. Freshness prevails on the palate, releasing a beautiful harmony.

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2012 is a true icon: a rare and alluring wine remarkable for its floral harmony and its richness” Hervé Deschamps, Perrier-Jouët Cellar Master

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2006 and Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2012 will be available this March exclusively at the Perrier-Jouët Drinks & Co pop-up, and starting May at Watson’s Wine.

Maison Perrier-Jouët takes inspiration from its celebrated past to unveil a transformative new bottle design for two of its classics – Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs and Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé.

Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs and Blason Rosé

Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs is an invigorating interpretation of iconic Perrier-Jouët style, revealing the freshness and vivacious facets of Chardonnay; Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé is the House’s most gourmet cuvée, crafted to be the perfect accompaniment to any gourmet dining experience, from starter to dessert. The elegant, slender bottle design evokes Perrier-Jouët’s heritage by paying homage to its unique Blason de France bottle. First created in 1955, the signature Blason de France was a landmark in House history originally available in only the most exclusive restaurants. Today, the new bottle evokes this traditional form, the predominant shape in Champagne.

Starting March 2019, the newly designed Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs and Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé will be available at the Perrier-Jouët Drinks & Co. pop-up as well as Watson’s Wine and Enoteca.

Art of the Wild spreads it extravagance to Hong Kong with British designer Bethan Laura Wood’s vibrant creation, HyperNature. From 9th – 23rd March, HyperNature will be on display at Old Bailey restaurant located in Tai Kwun, the city’s beautiful cultural centre for heritage and the arts.

Free in form, intense in colour and radiant by its presence, HyperNature is the purest expression of Art of the Wild, but, first and foremost, it provokes an emotional reaction. Beyond its design, HyperNature is a whimsical champagne experience; a new tasting ritual that immerses you into the Art of the Wild.

The intense curves, petals and colours of HyperNature were inspired by Wood’s journey to Champagne several months ago. While visiting the Maison Belle Epoque, the family home of Maison Perrier-Jouët in Epernay, the designer was immersed in Art Nouveau. Her palette of references was enriched by the floral universe of the artistic movement present in every detail of the house, like the arched, wooden doorframe designed by Hector Guimard, the tones of the stained-glass windows and the emblematic anemone motif designed by Emile Gallé for the Maison in 1902.

“With HyperNature I wanted to highlight the luxurious, memorable occasions on which we drink champagne by enhancing an element of fantasy within the tasting ritual. I also looked for a balance between the striking visual impact of the tree and the delicacy of the Perrier-Jouët champagne tasting ritual,” explains Wood.

Perrier-Jouët is proud to return as the Champagne Sponsor of amfAR Gala Hong Kong for the second consecutive year. Taking place on March 25, 2019 at the Rosewood Hong Kong, the black-tie event includes a cocktail reception, dinner, live auction, and entertainment.

The 2019 gala will honor renowned entrepreneur and community development change-maker Adrian Cheng. Previous honorees include American artist KAWs, actress and amfAR Ambassador Michelle Yeoh, fashion designer and UNAIDS Ambassador Victoria Beckham, and leading Hong Kong businesswoman and philanthropist Pansy Ho.

Charlize Theron, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and Michelle Rodriguez are among the luminaries who have previously served as Event Chairs. Since the gala’s inception in 2015, amfAR Gala Hong Kong has raised more than US$14 million in support of the Foundation’s lifesaving work.
