The award winning sister hotels, G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai continued to bask in 9 more awards for the year 2017 from 4 different international online travel portals and a prestigious architect institution in Malaysia for the PAM Awards 2017. With this result, the sister properties further shine as the leading hotels in the market.
Both G Hotels worked very closely with the online travel agents to help each other achieve a greater revenue and cater their best service to the business and leisure travellers. The top online travel agents in the market have recognized the efforts and the business relationship with G Hotel for the year 2017.
Firstly, Hotels.com, a leading online accommodation booking site, awarded G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai with the certificate of Loved by Guests Award 2017 for receiving exceptional guest ratings and reviews from Hotels.com’s customers, showing the hotel‘s outstanding dedication and service. This year, G Hotel Gurney scored a Fabulous score of 4.3 out of 5.0 while G Hotel Kelawai scored a Superb score of 4.5 out of 5.0. The score is solely based on the guest review ratings from customers around the world. To determine the initial recipients, Hotels.com analysed its database of more than 15 million Genuine Guest Reviews, which are verified upon the completion of each guest’s stay. Through this award recognition, both G Hotels are now tagged as “Top Hotel” on the booking site and appeared as first few top searched ranking hotel for easy bookings, especially for those who are planning a trip to Penang.
Secondly, G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai are also being conferred Recommended on HolidayCheck for the year 2017. HolidayCheck is the largest German speaking hotel review and travel website. The minimum criteria for the participating hotels of this award is to have at least 4.0 of the overall rating out of a possible 6.0. This year, G Hotel Gurney receives an exceptional score of 5.8 and G Hotel Kelawai receives a score 5.5 out of 6.0 which celebrates a consistent outstanding travellers reviews on HolidayCheck from the year 2016 to 2017. Besides that, the sister establishment are also delighted to be announced as one of the few recipients of 2017 TripAdvisor Certification of Excellence Awards. The award is only given to less than 10% of hotels listed on TripAdvisor, and G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai has achieved outstanding traveller reviews on the site. When selecting Certificate of Excellence winners, TripAdvisor uses a proprietary algorithm to determine the honourees that takes into account the quality, quantity and recency of reviews and opinions submitted by travellers on TripAdvisor, as well as a business’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. TripAdvisor recognizes excellent hotels that achieved bubble rating of at least 4.0 out of 5.0 as well as having a minimum number of reviews and must be listed on TripAdvisor for at least 12 months for this award.
Last but not least from the online travel agents, both properties G Hotel did it again by winning the Ctrip.com award for the third consecutive year as Chinese Preferred Hotel 2017, a program that acknowledges five star hotels that are Chinese-friendly. The winner of “Chinese Preferred Hotel” were recognized for having the following standards such as free WiFi, Chinese Style breakfast, Chinese translation service guide and in-room kettle. Both G Hotel properties fulfilled the criteria by providing these facilities and services which are mostly expected by the Chinese outbound travellers. “Customers can quickly and easily book these hotels online to ensure of a comfortable stay experiences. The PAM Award 2017 goes to G Hotel Kelawai for winning the PAM Silver Award for Sport & Recreation. The award was spearheaded by Architect T.Y. Au to compete with 77 other applicants. The result was announced during the gala dinner at JW Marriot Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
This PAM Award is the premier award for architecture in Malaysia where it recognizes the contribution made by architects in term of design quality and that of the built environment. The Awards are also bestowed on the best works which are recognised by peers and public alike in the architectural industry. These Awards give recognition to Malaysian Architects who pursue excellence in design, to promote the advancement of quality built environment that has beneficial social, physical and cultural impact in Malaysia and to recognise the diversity of Malaysian Architecture. They also give recognition to the Builders and Owners who work together to achieve the results.
