A Valentine’s Gastronomic Journey at one Michelin-starred ZEST by Konishi

At the root of every successful relationship is a strong partnership. So it is at Hong Kong’s ZEST by Konishi, home to a unique marriage of French and Japanese flavours. Spoil that special someone this Valentine’s Day with a delectable set menu that embraces culinary perfection and is laced with exquisite ingredients that will ensure the flames of passion burn bright.

The exclusive nine-course Valentine’s Day menu builds on Executive Chef Mitsuru Konishi own passion for captivating flavour and texture combinations, with touches of sweetness and earthiness, silkiness and crunch.

The meal begins with a sense of discovery, with Akagai, ark shell clam served with cauliflower and zucchini; cuttlefish with crispy kadaif with salmon roe; and a playful creation, the Carotte Cigarette. For a sense of depth, the menu continues with Snow crab and eggplant, topped with luxurious Kristal Caviar; before palates are tingled with black truffle, served with silky chicken velouté.

Another stunning dish, Brittany blue lobster, is served with cauliflower puree, thin-shaved cauliflower and amaranthus; and followed by tender, pan-seared French baby lamb served with parsley foam that delivers a touch of earthiness.

Sweet touches to the amour-enhancing menu at ZEST by Konishi includes vanilla Fromage mousse on a buttery shortbread crust, topped with Crème Fraîche ice cream, rose syrup infused rhubarb and mixed berries dust; and baked-to-order citrus madeleines encrusted with poppy seeds.

One Michelin-starred ZEST by Konishi breaks the fine-dining mould with a philosophy centred around putting one’s heart and soul into a given art. Chef Mitsuru Konishi’s menu is heartfully crafted, executed with finesse, and seasoned with pertinence, as he playfully blends new flavour profiles that will bring deep satisfaction and enjoyment to gourmets. The restaurant, which showcases the chef’s marriage of Japanese ingredients and timeless French technique, is Hong Kong’s first true chef-inspired restaurant, with menus reflecting Konishi’s culinary experience, background and extensive travels.

The Valentine’s Day nine-course menu is available on Friday, 14th February 2020, and is priced from HK$1,980+10% per person; Complete the experience with authentic five-glass wine pairings by adding HK$780.
