Soneva Kiri is located on Koh Kood, Thailand’s fourth largest but least populated island – just one hour by private plane south-east of Bangkok. The island is known for its vast biodiversity, which is greater than that of the entire United Kingdom. White sand beaches, clear turquoise waters and an abundance of local flora and fauna make it an adventurer’s dream. Soneva Kiri offers a combination of luxury, a sustainable and eco-friendly approach, authentic Thai experiences and a range of fine dining options.
Soneva Kiri comprises 34 vast one- to six-bedroom pool villas presiding over the beach, nestled into jungle-covered hillsides and perched atop soaring cliffs, all overlooking the Gulf of Thailand. All of the incredibly spacious villas have rustic-chic furnishings, personal electric buggies or bicycles and impeccable service courtesy of Mr./Ms. Friday private butlers. The larger villas come with children’s tree houses and water slides into the pool.
While at the resort, guests can indulge their appetite at seven restaurants and bars. Experience authentic cuisine from Thailand’s regions at the traditionally stilted Benz’s restaurant, reached via a short boat ride through the mangroves. Here Chef Benz uses locally caught or grown ingredients to craft her dishes that celebrate Thai flavours. The View serves international and Mediterranean inspired dishes, where spectacular views of the sunset serve as the backdrop. North Beach’s restaurant offers a toes-in-the-sand dining experience, where different themes dictate the menu for the day.
Take fine dining to new heights with the Treepod Dining experience. Diners are hoisted high into the ancient rainforest canopy in a secure bamboo pod, where meals are delivered via the zipline acrobatics of the waiter. The chocolate room, ice cream parlour, and deli full of cheese and cold cuts, are complimentary for guests all day long.
There is a seemingly endless list of things to do at Soneva Kiri. The outdoor Cinema Paradiso screens classic films and recent blockbusters under the starry night sky. The high-tech Observatory lets guests explore the universe and beyond. The Six Senses Spa, fully-equipped gym and complimentary non-motorised water sports are just the thing for wellness enthusiasts. Guests can also snorkel the house reef, go on guided snorkelling and dive trips to nearby islands, or choose to explore Koh Kood by land or by sea to swim beneath secret waterfalls or experience the island’s rugged coastline.
For Soneva Kiri’s younger guests the manta ray-shaped children’s Den, and the Eco Den. The Den is dedicated to learning, excitement, and meaningful experiences for children aged five and up. While the Eco Den is for children aged one to five years old, with age-specific activities watched by qualified childcare experts and local child carers.
