PASSALACQUA: A Love Letter to Lake Como
Passalacqua partners with Assouline to celebrate la dolce vita on the lake
Passalacqua, the jewel of Lake Como and crowned the World’s Best Hotel 2023, unveils its next masterpiece—not a suite or garden this time, but a book. In partnership with renowned luxury publisher Assouline, the estate presents PASSALACQUA: A Love Letter to Lake Como — a visual and emotional tribute to the timeless magic of one of Italy’s most iconic villas.
Steeped in history, the 18th-century villa was once home to famed composer Vincenzo Bellini. His spirit still lingers in the gilded salons and melodic whispers of the hallways. Today, Passalacqua remains a symbol of refined Italian hospitality, offering just 24 individually styled rooms and suites surrounded by cascading terraced gardens that gently slope toward the lake’s edge.
Brought to life by owners Valentina, Paolo, and Antonella De Santis, the book is more than a showcase of architecture and design—it is a story intimately told. Through striking photography and exclusive illustrations, it captures the soul of the property and its deep connection to the lake, as seen through the eyes of those who know it best.

Contributions from cherished guests and friends—including J.J. Martin, Emily FitzRoy, and Zach Weiss—add layers of warmth and personal memory, transforming the book into a deeply felt expression of love and legacy.
At the heart of this project are co-authors Daria Reina and Andrea Ferolla, known for their sophisticated storytelling and artistic lens. Daria brings her visual poetry to every page, while Andrea’s illustrations offer an expressive touch that elevates the narrative to art.
