For the end of year festivities, the façade of The Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong S.A.R. – home to the first
CHANEL boutique in Hong Kong that opened in October 1979 – comes alive with seasonal magic and
joy.
Inside, from the window displays to the Christmas trees that embellish the boutique interior, House
codes collide with symbols of the season: stars and pearls, pinwheels and mobile double Cs evolve in a
palette of red, silver and gold, punctuated by CHANEL’s emblematic black and a touch of blue. Here, a
starry constellation evokes the golden headboard in Gabrielle Chanel’s Mediterranean villa, La Pausa.
There, a red and gold spiral recalls the Art Deco mirrored staircase at 31 Rue Cambon. With a myriad
of textures, sparkling ornaments shimmer amid clusters of transparent and opaque glass beads in this
playful reinterpretation of the House codes.
The façade decorations of The Peninsula Hotel can be enjoyed throughout the month of December.
