To mark the long-awaited cinematic return of the iconic Cantonese drama A Step into the Past, Ngong Ping 360 presents “Ngong Ping 360 x Back to the Past”, a curated cultural experience running until 21 January 2026. The collaboration transforms Ngong Ping Village and the cable car journey into a cinematic time-travel narrative inspired by the Qin Dynasty.

A Sculptural Centrepiece

At the heart of the experience stands a 2.1-metre-tall, special-edition BE@RBRICK, reimagined as a Qin Dynasty Terracotta Warrior. Displayed at Ngong Ping Market Place, the sculpture merges contemporary collectible culture with historical symbolism, offering a striking visual anchor to the event. A globally limited edition of the BE@RBRICK will be released at a later date.

Costume Exhibition

A curated costume exhibition is presented at the Ngong Ping Cable Car Terminal Souvenir Shop, showcasing original outfits from the film. Costumes worn by Louis Koo, Jessica Hsuan, and Sonija Kwok are displayed, offering a glimpse into how the story’s visual language has evolved more than two decades after the original television series.

Themed Cable Cars

From now until 31 January 2026, select cable car cabins have been transformed with Back to the Past visuals, allowing visitors to experience the narrative’s time-travel theme throughout the journey to Ngong Ping Village.

A Cultural Moment

Bringing together cinema, design, and heritage, the collaboration reflects Ngong Ping Village’s balance of tradition and innovation. For long-time fans and new audiences alike, the experience offers a thoughtful reintroduction to a story that continues to resonate across generations.
