KILIAN PARIS unveils Her Majesty, the House’s first-ever Chypre fragrance — an expression of its enduring commitment to the art of Haute Parfumerie.

Inspired by Founder and Creative Director Kilian Hennessy’s journey to Japan and the delicate beauty of Sakura blossoms, Her Majesty translates this aesthetic experience into a unique olfactive creation.

A few years ago, Kilian Hennessy travelled to Japan, a place where time seems to stretch. In Kyoto, as he walked along the Philosopher’s path, he was struck by the sight of cherry blossoms carried by a gentle wind, their petals scattering like snow. Upon returning to his atelier, he set out to capture that vision — grace and strength — and translate it into scent.

With Her Majesty, KILIAN PARIS introduces its first Chypre — a modern reinterpretation in which Kilian Hennessy uses contrast to convey emotion into scent. Created in collaboration with perfumer Caroline Dumur, this fragrance belongs to the Narcotics olfactive family.

To compose Her Majesty, Kilian Hennessy began with ambrette seeds for softness, rose for grace, cedarwood for structure, and cypriol with oakmoss for depth. An aquatic note was inspired by the stream along Kyoto’s Philosopher’s path, while a delicate whisper of peach evokes the light fruity facet of the Sakura flower. Each element — ambrette seeds for natural musk, rose for grace, and marine notes recalling the flowing stream — was composed with meticulous precision, harmonizing into a fragrance of contrast and emotion.
