Akira Back at The Henderson Shines with Creativity for Art Month
Hong Kong, 4 March 2026 – This March, Akira Back at The Henderson – set within Hong Kong’s iconic architectural landmark in the heart of Central – joins the city’s vibrant Art Month celebrations with an exclusive, limited‑time dining experience. In honour of one of Hong Kong’s most anticipated cultural seasons, the restaurant unveils a specially curated Art-inspired Month menu Palette to Palate: The Art Series at Akira Back which reflects the spirit of creativity through Chef Akira Back’s signature modern Japanese cuisine, enriched with global influences. Chef Akira Back will take the helm in the Hong Kong kitchen for two evenings only on 27 and 28 March 2026.
Crafted exclusively for the occasion, the five‑course tasting menu presents a harmonious symphony of cross‑cultural flavours, thoughtfully composed to deliver a memorable multi‑sensory experience. As a culminating highlight of Art Week in Hong Kong, it invites guests into an exceptional dining journey crafted for the moment, under the direction of the acclaimed Chef Akira Back for two evenings in March.

The experience begins with Hassun (AB Trio Bites) – an elegant introduction to the evening’s culinary narrative. The refined trio features wagyu steak tartare crowned with quail egg yolk and lifted by the subtle sweetness of nashi pear; AB Garden Pizza, layered with black truffle, Korean zucchini, yellow radish, eringi mushroom and beetroot; and umami-rich tuna belly finished with aromatic shoyu and fresh ikura.
Next, Steamed Butter Fish follows as a visually striking composition, delicately layered with braised radish and served over bright lotus root ponzu, showcasing balance, precision and subtle acidity.

Roasted Quail is cooked to perfection with crisp golden skin and tender meat using a mix of Japanese and Korean ingredients and aromas and is complemented by house-made gochujang mole, smoked cucumber, and rich quail jus which delivers depth and a refined touch of heat.
A highlight of the evening, Snow Crab Clay Pot Rice elevates a beloved comfort classic with the sweet succulence of freshly extracted snow crab, enhanced with fermentation elements inspired by traditional Korea techniques and presented in its shell for dramatic effect. The dish is accompanied by clear “Gam-tae” soup and house-made Korean-style banchan, offering contrast and a refreshing palate reset.
Concluding the experience, AB Cigar pays playful homage to Art Month with a sculptural dessert shaped as a resting rolled cigar and dusted with sesame “ash”. Layers of smoked coffee mousse and tart strawberry jelly create a sophisticated interplay of richness and brightness, ensuring a memorable finale.
Palette to Palate: The Art Series at Akira Back is priced at HKD 1,388 per person for the five-course dinner, subject to 10% service charge. Reservations are now open for this exclusive, limited‑time experience.
