“Buon Fine Settimana” Brunch for Father’s Day

For family gatherings starring mum and dad, Chef Chung has created a joyous brunch menu with three variations based on the theme of A Lux’s popular Buon Fine Settimana weekend brunch. Available from noon to 3 p.m. on 17 and 18 June 2023 (Father’s Day and its eve), the menu features exquisite interpretations of land and sea bounty.

Priced at HK$588 per person, the four-course Father’s Day brunch set menu includes free-flow Antipasto, inviting family members to indulge in classic charcuterie and savoury vegetables from a smorgasbord of selection. For the next course, guests can choose from four perfectly al dente pasta dishes: Parmesan Risotto with Lobster Ragout; Penne with Beef Cheek and Mushroom Cream; Abalone Spinosini with Garlic and Chilli (add HK$88); or Carabineros Prawn Spaghetti (add HK$108). For the main course, five tantalising choices include Roasted U.S. Ribeye with Gravy; Sea bass and Clams with Spinach and Butter Sauce; Japanese Chicken Saltimbocca; Grilled Australian M8 Wagyu Beef (add HK$368); or Beef Wellington featuring USDA Prime beef tenderloin topped with foie gras, mushroom and onion paste under flaky pastry. To end brunch on a sweet note, guests can choose from an unlimited array of desserts available from Le Dessert Chariot – A Lux’s decadent dessert trolley – and enjoy seeing their selection presented on a customised dessert platter.

Priced at HK$788 per person and designed for those who prefer non-alcoholic beverages, the brunch menu includes all of the dishes from the above menu with the addition of delectable Siberian Sturgeon Caviar (10g). Guests can enjoy unlimited Roasted U.S. Ribeye for their main course, and unlimited desserts from Le Dessert Chariot. In addition, they can indulge in 90 minutes of free-flow non-alcoholic beverages ranging from a selection of juices, seasonal mocktails, alcohol-free sparkling wine, cold-brewed sparkling tea, tea and coffee.

For families that wish to experience the ultimate extravagance, the brunch menu priced at HK$888 per person encourages guests to celebrate with 90 minutes of free-flow champagne, red or white wine; as well as unlimited Roasted U.S. Ribeye for their chosen main course, and unlimited desserts from Le Dessert Chariot. Mum and dad will certainly be pleased with the labels: the champagne is Bruno et Christine Olivier Signature Brut Blanc de Noir NV, a grower’s champagne from Trélou-sur-Marne favoured by Michelin-starred restaurants and served in 5-star hotels. The crisp white Bordeaux Grand Bellot Blanc 2021 and fruity Tuscan red Cesari Chianti ‘Principe’ 2020 are the fine still wines available. This menu offers the same delicious dishes as the above second brunch option with plenty of moments certain to become cherished family memories.

“L’amore della famiglia” Dinner Tasting Menu

Guests that prefer dinner celebrations can feast on an exquisite tasting menu priced at HK$980 per person on and 17 and 18 June 2023 (Father’s Day and its eve); between 6pm and 10pm. Created by Chef Chung, L’amore della famiglia is a five-course menu steeped in Italian and French traditions while highlighting handpicked produce representing the best from farms and oceans.

The meal starts with an Amuse Bouche, followed by delicate White Asparagus with Spanish Ham and Italian Egg. Next is succulent Hokkaido Scallop with Sea Urchin underscored by savoury herb butter. The pasta course features silky house-made Tagliolini with Sweet Morsels of lobster and intensely flavourful bottarga. Guests can select from two main dishes: succulent Lamb Wellington featuring Spanish lamb tenderloin topped with foie gras, mushroom and onion paste under flaky pastry or cioppino with meltingly flaky cod roulade wrapped in filo pasty. Rounding out the special dinner is a Dessert Surprise or Cheese Platter.

The cosy ambience of A Lux looks out to the historic gas lamps at the top of Duddell Street and is an intimate place to treat family to a special celebration. The earth-toned palette of the stone entrance continues into the restaurant past the open kitchen, where refined Italian-French gastronomy in a glamorous setting is the order of the day.

Diners bask in warm, golden accents from an array of internal hanging lamps and an illuminated showpiece counter. Ridged furniture upholstered in plush blush-hued velvet, expanses of light-coloured wood and wavy panels on the ceiling give a sense of comfort and calming movement.

Spanning more than 3,600 sq. ft, the restaurant accommodates a total of 70 diners, either in the spacious main dining area or secluded in 1 of 2 private rooms seating 6-8 people (which can be merged for larger parties). Its air of sophistication would embrace up to 120 guests assembled for a cocktail party.

A Lux is located at Shop M2, M/F, Baskerville House, 13 Duddell Street, Central, Hong Kong, and operates from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
