Lovers can wine, dine and romance their significant others with a rendezvous at Aberdeen Street Social this Valentine’s Day. Couples can make a night of it upstairs in the intimate restaurant with Chef Chris Whitmore’s 7-course tasting menu that would make Shakespeare proud, priced at only HK$1,880 per pair or with an additional HK$888 per person for the wine pairing option.
Singles can start a love affair at the bar over Bar Manager Neil Rivington’s specially created Valentine’s cocktail Happily Ever After.
Upstairs, diners will be welcomed like royalty with an indulgent array of canapés, oysters, caviar and a welcome glass of Champagne to set the mood. The dinner follows with a Fricassee of peas and broad beans (Paired with Vinao Hillside, Conta Costa County, USA NV) and Salmon and miso (Paired with Domaine Lucci, Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills, Australia 2013). Couples have a choice of three entrées including Turbot on the bone with morel mushrooms and lobster sauce (Paired with Riesling, Le Dragon, Josmeyer, Alsace 2012), Roasted Poussin with boulanger potatoes and tarragon crumble (Paired with Chambolle Musigny, Ghislaine Barthod 2011) and Wagyu Ribeye for two with truffle mac and cheese in red wine sauce (Paired with Château Haut Lagrange, Pessac-Leognan 2009).
Specially crafted for the occasion is the creative Fifty Shades of Chocolate (Paired with Verdelho, Barbeito 10yrs) to end the meal on a sinful note. Other dessert options include Strawberry with orchids, litchi, yoghurt and white chocolate (Paired with Moscato d’Asti, Michele Chiarlo 2013) and the Aberdeen Street Social favourite of Jaal 75% with chocolate, banana, calamansi and Madras curry (Paired with Jasnieres, Raisins Noble, Domaine Gigou, Loire 2009) followed by modern British Petit fours.
Social singles can mix and mingle downstairs over the bespoke cocktail Happily Ever After with Auchentoshan whisky, Tanqueray gin, blue curacao, lemon and chamomile honey (HK$ 128).
