Autumn – the start of cooler weather – means that garlic, mushrooms and earthy beetroots shine. To whet the appetite, we begin with an Amuse Bouche of sweet orange, earthy mushroom toast and pickled apple, then follow on with a selection of two delicious soups.


For mushroom purists, you simply can’t go wrong with the crystal-clear Mushroom Consomme of porcini, shiitake and button mushrooms, but garlic lovers will, no doubt, opt for the second choice – a creamy Black Garlic & Leek Cream Soup made with sweet black garlic and slow roasted garlic. Truth be told, the only problem you have is if you love both garlic and mushrooms, but no matter your choice, you’ll be pleased to know that a Grilled Portobello mushroom rounds off it off, baked with sweet bell peppers, button mushrooms and cheese.

For the mains, there is a fantastic choice of five dishes. The restaurants signature Uptop Chicken is rolled and, this time, filled with a luxurious truffle purée before being pan-roasted, and served with a Madeira sauce. The Canadian Pork Loin is succulent, grilled and served with roasted ceps, and a black garlic glaze. For serious beef-loving carnivores there is a U.S. Ribeye Steak (+$58), grilled and served with roasted garlic, beetroot garlic purée and demi glace.

Naturally, Autumn isn’t only about meat, so seafood lovers should get set to adore the North Pacific Black Cod – a tender, flakey fillet that is cooked in a pan with butter, and served golden brown, with a cucumber enokitake roll, fennel fronds and a savoury cream. We also return with the popular U.S. King Prawn & Scallop (+$58) dish – an ocean-sweet delight of grilled king prawn and baked scallop with all the trimmings of fresh herbs, baby corn, carrots and palate-pleasing garlic butter sauce.

The menu is perfectly designed to allow just enough room for dessert; a serious selection of a Cappuccino Layer Cake with chocolate purée and chocolate crumb, a decadent Three Chocolate Mousse Cake with a berry and oat compote and chocolate ice cream, or fresh Crêpes topped with vanilla ice cream and white truffle oil, to end your evening elegantly.

The A Special Autumn Time Set Dinner is priced at $388 (+10% S.C.) per person, and for an additional $168, guests can enjoy three glasses of wine.
