A TASTE OF PARADISO: PASSALACQUA – LAKE COMO, ITALY

SCREEN PAIRING: PALM ROYALE (2024)

Described as Grand Hotel Tremezzo’s sleek sister downshore, Passalacqua sits proudly in the quaint lakeside village of Moltrasio just fifteen minutes from Como town. A private home since 1787, the property has been transformed into a once-on-a-century hotel after three years of restoration.

An 18th century villa built on land originally owned by Pope Innocent XI, every single aspect of the property’s interiors including the meticulous restoration of the frescoes, hand blown glass chandeliers to mirrored secret mini bars and underground heated 20-meter-long indoor pool lined in aqua-hued Palladian-style tiles. Each of the 24 unique accommodations embodies the enviable lakeside lifestyle that has made Lake Como so beloved through the ages.

At Passalacqua, it is all about reviving the lost art of travel known as villeggiatura and making new memories that connect us with our shared past.
