Autumn Treasures: Crab Tasting Menu and Live Crab Cooking Demonstration at FUMI

FUMI is set to enrich its offerings with an exquisite array of seasonal a la carte dishes and a meticulously curated autumn-tasting menu highlighting the finest seasonal ingredients from Japan with an array of crab dishes.

Available from 16 September to 31 October 2024 during dinner service, the enticing new additions include a captivating live cooking demonstration featuring freshly imported Hokkaido snow crab and Hokkaido king crab, skilfully prepared atop premium Japanese rice in a traditional clay pot, right at the guest’s table side for a touch of culinary theatre to elevate a fun dining experience. The Live Hokkaido Snow Crab, weighing approximately 1 kg, is perfectly portioned for up to four guests and is offered at HK$1,980. Alternatively, opt for the Live Hokkaido King Crab, weighing about 2 kg, which serves six guests and is available for HK$3,980 (pre-order is required two days in advance).

Slurp up the exquisite Steamed Chinese Hairy Crab, renowned for its tender, sweet flesh that delivers a robust umami flavour and a pillowy soft texture. The prices range from HK$198 to HK$238 each (pre-order is required a day in advance with a minimum order of four pieces).

Other autumn specials include Shio Koji Pigeon (HK$188). Shio Koji is a seasoning made from fermented rice with a mild and sweet flavour that tenderises the meat while adding a deep umami flavour to the succulent pigeon.

Do not miss the Steamed Egg Custard with Hairy Crab Coral (HK$88). The term “hairy crab coral”, also known as “Xie fen”, is a luxurious blend of crab roe and meat distinguished by its rich golden-orange hue, offering a sumptuously buttery flavour that goes very well with the silky Japanese-style steamed egg custard.
