Bally, the Swiss luxury leather goods house, held its 2012 Spring/Summer Collection Exclusive Preview at the new concept store in Times Square on the evening of March 8th 2012. Renowned celebrity Ms. Lynn Xiong was guest of honour with appearances by celebrity models Ms. Mandy Lieu, Ms. Jocelyn Luko-Sandstrom, her husband Mr. Anthony Sandstrom and Ms. Alice B. Over a hundred Bally VIPs were there to celebrate the launch of the new season’s collection.
The Made-To-Order Scribe shoes, Zurich pumps and the newly re-engineered Moritz bag, all known as the “Bally icons”, were the highlight of the night. Distinctly Bally, each collection represents the highest quality leathers, world class design principles and speaks of timeless modernity.
During the event, models presented Bally 2012 Spring/Summer Collection designed by creative directors Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler. This season’s Women’s Collection explored a modern romance in which streamlined sportswear silhouettes meet precious, petal-strewn fabrics. Fusing Bally’s 160-year-old heritage of leather craftsmanship with a sense of Switzerland’s landscape and traditions, created a unique contemporary aesthetic for the brand, based around the notion of unexpected juxtaposition.
The Men’s Collection captures the spirit of a relaxed European lifestyle reminiscent of the late 1950s. As individual style began to find its place in the late 1950s and early 1960s, men began experimenting with different materials to express their personal flair. Inspired by archive pieces from the era, the look of Bally’s SS12 collection is light and comfortable yet handsomely well-groomed: from the easy going feel of the new deck shoe range, to the soft Sea Island cotton knitwear, and the carefree bags and accessories, every piece suggests an effortless summer lifestyle of languid luxury.
The Bally boutique in Times Square occupies a space of 335 sqm. Bally’s principle of creating appealing spaces that evoke a sense of luxurious ease by applying a natural palette contrasted against light and dark surfaces. The strong, clean lines of the façade’s bronze frame incorporates large picture windows with key displays arranged to present the Bally product at eye-level and complement the refined surrounding architecture. The store’s harmonious interior features white fossil stone floors and 100% pure wool grey carpet, offset by white walls that enhance Bally’s sophisticated style.
