CAP JULUCA, A BELMOND HOTEL, ANGUILLA LAUNCHES A BRAND-NEW SPA IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GUERLAIN
Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel, Anguilla, an exclusive oasis on the pristine sands of the most beautiful beach in the Caribbean, is delighted to announce the launch of the property’s brand-new spa in collaboration with Guerlain, from June 2024. Cap Juluca Spa by Guerlain draws inspiration from Anguilla’s earliest inhabitants, the indigenous Arawak tribe who celebrated the renewal and rejuvenation of each new day, while offering a harmonious connection with nature and a rebalance of energy. A private hideaway located in the most coveted sanctuary of the dazzling shores of Anguilla, this secluded wellness paradise is a haven of relaxation, where guests will enjoy a collection of Guerlain rituals exclusive to the iconic resort.
NATURE-INSPIRED BEAUTY RITUALS
Cap Juluca Spa by Guerlain will offer a combination of traditional and innovative treatments that stay true to Guerlain’s multisensory and holistic approach, as well as experiences created specifically in harmony with the atmosphere, culture, and activities of Anguilla. Guests will enjoy a comprehensive menu of exclusive Guerlain treatments that reflect the tranquil ambiance and enchantment of the Caribbean, from Ocean Vibes, an invigorating face and body experience that incorporates an ocean tambour and ice bubbles in the form of chilled turquoise blue spheres to recreate the calming sounds of rolling and crashing waves, to the Crystal Bowl Energy, a multi-sensorial body and facial treatment featuring a delicate face mask of pink quartz with the vibrations and sounds of crystal bowls to enhance this divine ritual, restoring inner peace and harmony. Designed to complement time spent exploring the island, the exclusive Restorative After Sun treatment focuses on the face and body after sun exposure to prolong a healthy glow, including a combination of the reparative properties of bee products, a soothing wrap, and a massage with freshwater spheres, leaving skin fully detoxified, repaired, and infinitely renewed.
HOLISTIC HEALING IN PARADISE
Designed by renowned design studio, Rottet Studio, Cap Juluca Spa by Guerlain invites visitors to reconnect with nature amongst the cerulean sea and a meandering landscape of lush botanicals and untamed winding garden paths. Guests are greeted by an open-air courtyard adorned with exquisite emerald mosaic patterns and a central fountain, framed by an abundance of tropical foliage. The inviting, light-filled reception provides an instant sense of calm, featuring neutral earth tones and dark wood cabinets with cane detailing. A sanctuary of senses, the seven private treatment rooms, all named to represent the connection between local flora and Guerlain fragrances, feature cerused and bleached white oak, limestone flooring, and rough-cut limestone basins. The spa’s new Imperial Suite will provide guests with the VIP treatment, with access to its own sauna and steam shower combined with a relaxation area to enhance the special treatments and give guests the bespoke Cap Juluca treatment.
Spa guests will have plenty of tranquil spaces to relax and unwind post-treatment, from the sun-soaked pool deck and beauty salon to the refreshing sauna. The Calichi Garden, invoking the sacred Arawak fountain, is the ceremonial soul of the spa, offering the perfect ambiance for private moments, multi-temperate plunge pool dips, and sage burning rituals, which have been used for centuries as part of a spiritual ritual to cleanse a person or space, promoting healing and wisdom. The Calichi Garden’s sacred fountain is inspired by the original Arawak fountain that was discovered more than 1,500 years ago in Anguilla, which served as a ceremonial site and source of fresh water. Upon arrival, guests will be invited to participate in a special ritual where they will write their names on leaves to be placed near the spa’s sacred fountain, similar to generations of lovers who did the same to seal the fate of their relationships at the site of the original fountain.
WHOLENESS: BEYOND THE SPA WALLS
Located along the intimate shores of Maundays Bay, Cap Juluca’s beach is widely recognized as the best beach in the Caribbean, offering guests a haven for total relaxation and well-being. The introduction of Cap Juluca Spa by Guerlain will allow guests to experience firsthand one of the many ways the enchanting beachfront property has reimagined how guests experience wholeness, creating a world that entwines wellness with travel.
Guests seeking experiences that incorporate elements of mindfulness, nutrition, and longevity activation can take advantage of the resort’s Wellness Series, which ranges from must-visit yogis, nutritionists, and plant-based chefs in the pursuit of holistic wellbeing. As part of the Wellness Series, guests can book a unique healing and transformation experience with Watsu practitioner Banu Alagoz from 12 through 23 June at Cap Juluca. This special retreat will include personalised Kundalini yoga, meditation, and Watsu Flow sessions, which incorporate energy healing, massage, and stretching techniques while floating weightlessly on the surface of water. Designed to soften muscles and tissues, open energy pathways, increase mobility and flexibility, guests will experience the feeling of flow through the release of stored emotions and stuck energy.
Available seasonally from May through August, guests can partake in the age-old tradition of Salt Picking. A practice that not only harks back to the island’s history, when salt picking was once a vital part of life in Anguilla, this experience also celebrates nature and the soulful connection between land, sea, and the people. This special experience includes a visit to the island’s largest coastal salt pond, where guests will participate in salt harvesting and discovering the healing powers of the mineral-rich crystal, while connecting with Anguilla’s maritime heritage.
In the Cap Juluca Nursery, guests can explore the connection between wellbeing and nature through the resort’s Driftwood Art Creation & Terrarium Building workshop, where they will discover the art of planting and creating small garden designs using local materials and natural plants with Cap Juluca’s on-site gardener. Allowing guests to bring home this Caribbean knowledge and incorporate this new skill set into their homes, this experience will evoke special memories that last well beyond their visits.
