Cartier’s exquisite accessory collections: Gifts of beauty, luxury and distinctive style
Cartier boutiques are veritable treasure troves of exquisite jewels and watches, yet they are also prime destinations for accessories and gifts that stand the test of time and whims of fashion. Whether shopping for leather goods, perfume, pens, decorative accoutrements or home collectables, you can depend on Cartier to offer the finest craftsmanship and style.
More than 160 years, Cartier has perfected its accessory collections with a spirit of refinement and audacious innovation. Each creation is the result of clever invention, careful attention to detail and timeless design. Bags in sumptuous leather that make the man and define a woman of style; charismatic eyewear that complements your character and sophistication; cufflinks and lighters that gleam with all the hallmarks of Cartier class, and gorgeous pens that ensure that writing remains an art. And, for the most discerning, iconic clocks, boxes and precious objects that bring the legend of Cartier to your home.
This is the fantastic inventory of Cartier, a register that grows richer every year with the addition of exciting new designs. Classic choices, surprising creations – Cartier gifts are timeless. Bringing pleasure to both giver and receiver, they are worn or displayed with true feeling and treasured forever.
The appreciation of luxury extends beyond personal accoutrements; it enters the living environment to express one’s taste and style. Thanks to an accessories collection of profound depth and diversity, Cartier is able to address different aspects of a refined lifestyle. That proud and legendary Cartier symbol, the panther, decorates new additions to accessory collections for the initiated. Interpreted with character and elegance on each fine piece – from writing instruments to desk accessories and gifts – the iconic beast brings power and grace into your life.
With sparkling eyes of garnet tsavorite, a panther hugs the top of limited edition and numbered Louis Cartier fountain pens in palladium-finish sterling silver and black lacquer, and decorates a lighter in black lacquer and palladium. Later this year, a sterling silver clock encased in a block of rock crystal will feature an alert, athletic beast sculpted onto its stand of black obsidian and silver. This timely object of desire will be limited to 55 numbered pieces.
Similarly, a collection with dragon decor – the mythical symbol of strength that has influenced Cartier creativity since the 1920s – will be extended to include a watch box
crafted from black lacquered sycamore wood with white and grey mother-of-pearl marquetry (available in November in a limited edition of 38 numbered pieces). An
exquisite dragon decor fountain pen will be released in a limited numbered edition of 88, with each requiring more than 50 hours of craftsmanship. The 18-carat solid gold
rhodiumised nib is engraved with a dragon’s head, while the full beast in sterling silver with red garnet eyes and a pearl in its mouth is sculpted on the crystal stand.
Bags of Class
A chic essential for city girls, the Marcello de Cartier hobo bag is now offered in three new limited-edition models for the most refined and daring of tastes. Adding to the
portfolio of soft noble leathers that characterise this discreetly luxurious and eminently practical single-strap shoulder tote are black varnished calfskin, nude-coloured calfskin
and genuine python leather.
Inside, a lining of stylish beige cotton (for the calfskin models) or sumptuous Alcantara (python) sets the tone for the dual inner compartments, which provide optimum versatility and functionality. One boasts an additional zipped pocket with gusset, the other a large flat pocket and two separate smaller pockets for your mobile phones. Outside, Cartier’s signature double C logo charm in palladium finish dangles invitingly from a chain attached to one end of the bag, serving to reflect its extraordinary pedigree. Marcello de Cartier hobo bags come in two sizes – large and medium.
Besides the three new limited-edition styles, existing smart choices comprise black calfskin teamed with black elaphe (snake) leather; bronze-coloured calfskin and elaphe; ebony coloured velvet and elaphe, and black matte python paired with black furry calfskin.
Prized for their precision, good looks and outstanding lines, Cartier pens enhance the pleasure of writing longhand, ensuring that this art and its accompanying etiquette are not lost. The arrival of Art Deco style pen, in a choice of black composite or limitededition red lacquer, will make writing fashionable for the modern woman once again. These stylish new pens are highlighted by chiselled clips and curved tops that end in an eye-catching red cabochon. Smart, sexy and oh so Parisian, Art Deco style pen comes
in fountain pen, roller and ballpoint styles.
Masculine hands will be served by new limited additions to the popular Roadster line. One of the models, which again come in a choice of fountain, rollerball or ballpoint, is inspired by leather driving gloves; a black leather calfskin body is teamed with a palladium-finish cap and details and accented by a sold gold nib and black onyx cabochon. The second release echoes the stitched leather of car steering wheels, with brown leather calfskin for the pen body and cap and a gleaming tiger’s eye cabochon.
Moving up to a man’s wrist to ensure that sleeves are immaculately dressed, Cartier introduces a pair of elegant cufflinks in black lacquer and sterling silver with palladium finish that tie directly into the house DNA. Poker decor, meanwhile, characterises a pair of limited-edition cufflinks with black and red lacquer accents and a noble key ring. The new Roadster money clip benefits from a large round sapphire-blue-coloured composite cabochon. Lighters come with a snazzy panther-claw pattern and in Russian-style – a limited-edition model in red lacquer with guilloche decor – while a limited-edition Ballon bleu de Cartier clock with a black crystal base and black dial cased in polished palladium finish makes a stylish desk accessory or travel companion.
Two new fragrances accentuate the feminine mystique as only Cartier, arbiter of class and innovation, can. Cartier’s latest eau de parfum, the intense Baiser Volé (stolen kiss), encapsulates the lily, a royal flower rarely used in perfumery. Fresh, floral and sensual, the scent is presented in a timeless oval perfume bottle that reminds of a precious beauty compact. A push-button on the engraved Baiser Volé logo flips the golden metal top to release a lingering kiss of powdered elegance into the air.
Cartier de Lune, a tender floral fragrance, captures the essence of a cloud of dazzling white flowers in a flacon of moonstone-colour surfaces; the epitome of purity and grace.
