Central Yards Celebrates the Grand Opening of Central Yards Edible Art Fair

Central Yards, Henderson Land’s most ambitious and sustainable global harbourfront icon, yesterday celebrated the grand opening of the Central Yards Edible Art Fair, Hong Kong’s first pioneering cultural experience that introduces a new dimension to Hong Kong Art Month. The opening ceremony was officiated by Dr. Martin Lee Ka‑shing, Chairman of Henderson Land Group, and Mrs. Cathy Chui Lee. Born from a deep love for the city, the partnership reflects Central Yards’ vision to reinvent Central as a vibrant district where culture, joy, community and everyday life come together.

The Central Yards Edible Art Fair was conceived by founder and creative director Arbiona Cadman, CEOof renowned events and catering company Feste Group, with art curation led by independent art consultancy firm Art-Partners. Held in a 20,000 square feet purpose-built tent at the Central HarbourfrontEvent Space, beside the Central Yards development, the Fair offers an immersive journey through ten galleries, each inspired by an iconic art movement and paired with a specially-created edible work.

Spanning over 1.6 million square feet of gross floor area across retail, commerce, a theatre and open spaces, Central Yards is poised to become a global harbourfront icon for Hong Kong andthe world. As a new addition to Hong Kong Art Month, the Central Yards Edible Art Fair introduces fresh energy to the city’s cultural calendar by offering an unconventional, multi-sensory platform that sparks curiosity and conversation. The initiative is grounded in the belief that art should extend beyond traditional galleries and into the fabric of the city, where it can be encountered casually, enjoyed socially and shared across generations.

Making the Impossible Possible Through FirstofItsKind Experiences

Following the successful opening celebration, the Fair will be open to the public from 26 March to 5 April, visitors are invited to taste wonder itself, with bite‑sized delights offered in each gallery—ranging from thedappled light of 19th‑century Impressionism to the bold, avant‑garde spirit of modern art.

The opening night featured an exclusive collaboration within the Diamond Lab, created by installation artist and chocolatier Ryan L. Foote, where culinary artist Chef Lisandro Illa presented geometric, jewel-like canapés that blurred the boundaries of gastronomy. Guests also enjoyed Peridot’s signature terroir cocktails, which were featured throughout the event.

Each edible creation, from Jelly Dog and Choc Duck to Fruit Ribbons, Liquid Palette, Banana, The Tin, Eggie in Blue, In Bloom, Hidden Gems, and Froggy Biscuits, is designed to deepen the connection between palate and art. By placing food at the heart of artistic experience, the fair makes the impossiblepossible. This spirit of innovation echoes Central Yards’ broader vision of expanding horizons and rippling possibilities across Central. By supporting bold ideas and unconventional formats, Central Yards continues to introduce new pulses of energy to the district.

Bridging Worlds: Art, Food and Community

At the heart of the Central Yards Edible Art Fair is a commitment to bridging worlds—between art and food, creators and community. This inaugural edition features collaborations with renowned Hong Kong artists Angela Yuen and Frog King, both celebrated for practices grounded in cultural dialogue, experimentation, and community engagement. Drawing inspiration from a set of iconic architectures of Central, Angela Yuen’s special creation of “In Presence” playfully [bridged] old and new, reimagining recycled “Made in Hong Kong” vintage toys, inviting audiences to reconnect with familiar cultural memories in her specific gallery.

The opening party was further enlivened by breathtaking performances, featuring Venetian performing artist Lisa Nodari with her signature flying piano act, followed by a dynamic DJ set from Carol Tam.

A Constellation of both local and international creators

Central Yards Edible Art Fair brings together a curated series of creative collaborations, uniting globally recognized names with locally engaged rooted talents across taste, design, and lifestyle. Peridot—a sky-high bar known for its with panoramic views, coveted for their terroir-cocktails, and plant-based eats—curated a bespoke selection of signature cocktails and mocktails drinks exclusively for the Fair’s bar. Meanwhile, the Monocle Café, an extension of the global lifestyle and culture label, introduces an international perspective through its signature café offering within the fair, blending global international sensibilities with a strong sense of place.

Further enriching the experience, Social Goods, a Hong Kong-based modern bakery centered on artisanal baking and everyday comfort, brings its signature pastries to the Fair, alongside bespoke chocolate creations by celebrated chocolatier Ryan L Foote, whose artisanal practice blurs the boundaries betweencraftsmanship and art. Together, these collaborations exemplify Central Yards’ vision of convening global and local creative forces to shape a vibrant, sustainable, world-class destination for everyday life.
