Chantecaille has partnered with the Amazon Conservation Team (ACT) and its Ancestral Tides program to protect the American Flamingos and their fragile wetland habitat in the Boca de Camarones wetlands on Colombia’s Caribbean coast, home to the Los Flamencos Flora and Fauna Sanctuary. This initiative combines Indigenous ecological knowledge from the Wayúu and Sierra Nevada peoples with scientific monitoring to safeguard flamingos, an indicator species for ecosystem health, and preserve biodiversity.

Chantecaille’s donation will support wetland and flamingo monitoring, train local Wayúu communities in conservation and ecotourism, map sacred cultural sites, and help sustain Indigenous traditions tied to these ecosystems.
