Chloé is not a passing moment; it is an eternal state of mind guided by instinct and optimism. What matters to me is the feeling and intuition that guides this very personal, intimate and sensual way of dressing.
The mood is light, weightless, sensual and joyful. Fabrics are sun faded, rinsed and worn in, mixing the precious and the simple. Lace guipures with ribbed cotton jersey, billowy silk charmeuses, Habotai silks. Floating and flying.
Colors are also faded by the sun to apricot, shell white, blush, sand, pale yellow, faded lime and mint, dusk blue and lavender. Finally blooming into a print of roses and peonies reworked from an original hand painted 1977 artwork.
A feeling of lingerie drifts through the collection mixed with soft summer sartorial tailoring – pieces that feel lost and found. The new jacket silhouette is based on the flou blouse with gathers, pleated sleeves and a precise structured shoulder in cotton canvas and suede. There is a delicate simplicity to the perfect cotton ribbed henley edged in lace and a sense of the playful in the iconic 70s Chloé bloomers.
Accessories layer the whimsical and the treasured – adorned with a collected mélange of broken shells, sea washed stones, summer charms and chains. Crocheted and rafia bracelet bags. The summer Maxime platform, jelly shoes and the laced ballerina.
There is a spontaneous joy to this collection, a liberating expression of total freedom.
