Sunday is bound to be time for a relaxing brunch. The Common Room at One-Eight-One Hotel & Serviced Residences has unveiled a three-course English Sunday Brunch menu, available from February 2020 for guests to nibble on authentic English cuisine with family and friends on laid-back Sundays. As an ode to traditional English cuisine, The Common Room has spared no effort in making its brunch dishes stay true to the culinary roots of England.
The idea of going ‘English’ with an otherwise typical Sunday brunch stems from the very inspiration that helps shape the restaurant concept – Mr. Christopher Liu, the Executive Director of One-Eight-One Hotel & Serviced Residences, recalls the memorable days at The University of Oxford when he spent time simply chilling and hanging out with friends at the (JCR) Junior Common Room. This intimate bonding with England has developed into an enthusiasm for English cuisine, paving way for the idea of incorporating an array of traditional English fare to the Sunday Brunch menu.
The three-course brunch menu is carefully curated to manifest the variety of traditional English fare. Highlighted dishes that pay tribute to the classic English cuisine include Bubble and Squeak, Full English Breakfast, Steak & Kidney Pie, Bangers & Mash, Fish and Chips and Eton’s Mess. As a representative dish of English cuisine, Shepherd’s Pie is also featured on the menu. Made with a filling of minced lamb and topped with creamy mashed potatoes, this classic Shepherd’s Pie will surely satisfy your tastebuds as well as fill your belly.
The English Sunday Brunch, available from 2 February 2020, every Sunday 11:30am to 3:00pm, is priced at $300 per person plus $150 for unlimited Fuller’s London Pride or Young’s London Stout and $250 for unlimited Prosecco, Rose and House White/Red.
