The limited edition pays homage to the Maison’s origins and commitment to artisanal craftsmanship. Do Son, inspired by one of the founder’s childhood in Vietnam, Yves Coueslant, unveils the extraordinary facets of tuberose, embracing Vietnam’s rich heritage, and bringing back poetic treasures from global expeditions to the boutique at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris.
At the heart of the Do Son collection lies a celebration of Vietnamese craftsmanship – a fragrance that takes us on a journey where its essence originates from the sea breeze of the eponymous Vietnamese coastal town. Crafted by perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin, this harmonious blend of tuberose, jasmine, and orange blossom notes, caressed by marine accords, offers a truly unique olfactory experience. Each ingredient plays a vital role, awakening the senses and evoking profound emotions.
Diptyque has collaborated with Hanoia, a renowned Vietnamese craft brand based in Hanoi – bringing together the art of lacquerwork and basketry, which are integral to Vietnam’s cultural heritage. Diptyque presents two limited edition objects for the Do Son Voyage collection. The first is an exclusive set featuring a rattan cover for its lacquered wood base and lid, with the lid beautifully engraved with an illustration inspired by Do Son. This delicate case, a true objet d’art, contains a 75ml limited edition Do Son Eau de Parfum, presented in an oval bottle distinguished by an embossed image in a cinnabar red varnish, reminiscent of Vietnamese lacquer. The second object is a specially crafted woven rattan lid designed for the medium-size Tubéreuse (Tuberose) candle. Each piece is carefully crafted by skilled artisans, embodying the unique character and artistry of Vietnam.
The Do Son Voyage collection, including the Tubéreuse Classic Candle, are housed in an opaque lacquered vessel and adorned with a symbolic, distinctive red, presented in boxes embossed with motifs reminiscent of Vietnamese weaving.
