French Gourmet Chocolatier Jean-Paul Hévin

2Welcomes the Year of the Goat with an Artisan Chocolate Collection Representing Wealth and Fortune

Award-winning French chocolatier, Jean-Paul Hévin, celebrates the Lunar New Year with his creation of a premium chocolate range honouring 2015’s Lunar Year of the Goat representing wealth and fortune.

To celebrate this momentous Chinese national festival, Jean-Paul Hévin has created two special bonbons, which are traditional auspicious symbols in the Chinese culture.  The first bonbon is the Chinese New Year  Bon Augure bonbon  (HK$23) – a dark chocolate square filled with pear caramel, imprinted with the character ‘Luck’ atop a bright red surface.  The traditional Golden Ingot ‘Lingot d’or’ (HK$35) is also given a French chocolate touch, in a creamy praline flavour coated with milk chocolate.

Jean-Paul Hévin’s Chinese New Year creations are paired alongside his year-round favourites in Chinese-inspired box collections.  A red circular gift box with a golden goat drawing contains different celebratory assortments.  Boîte Gourmandise (HK$688) showcases 3 gold ingots as its centrepiece, surrounded by dark chocolate pearls, fruit mendiants, candied almonds, Jean-Paul Hévin signature palets, and caramels and nougats.

Boîte Bonne Étoile (HK$588), is an extensive showcase of Jean-Paul Hévin’s chocolate works of art, featuring 8 aesthetically placed Gold Ingots surrounding 9 signature bonbons, including 3 Bon Augure bonbons at the center of the chocolate box.

To complement the Chinese New Year Collection, Jean-Paul Hévin offers a pack of 5 elegant Laisee Packets (red packets) with each Chinese New Year gift box purchased.

The brand’s bespoke services also allow customers to create their own “Fortune Packets” for this special celebration.  A special packet in red and gold colours can be tailor-made to include a range of Jean-Paul Hévin’s signature product, such as orangettes, caramels, mendiants or almonds.

Holiday hampers celebrating the Lunar New Year featuring a collection of Jean-Paul Hévin treats are also available for sharing joy and fortune with friends or business associates.  A Hamper Bonne Chance (HK$1,188) highlights four items including a Boîte Bonne Étoile, box of 5 macarons, a Fortune Packet with 6 caramels and nougats, and a bottle of the French Alain Milliat juice.

The Hamper Bonne Année (HK$2,188) offers a complete assortment of Jean-Paul Hévin items, such as a Boîte Gourmandise, box of 15 macarons, 60 grams of orangettes in Fortune Packet, mini tin truffles (10 pieces), and a breakfast delight trio of signature jam, honey, and chocolate spread, perfect for the family.  A luxurious Hamper Bonheur (HK$2,988) truly designed for a celebration comes with a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne to complement a Boîte Bonne Étoile, a Boîte Gourmandise, box of 10 macarons, large tin truffles (20 pieces), and a Fortune Packet with 3 giant gourmet hazelnut crunchy chocolate bars.

In addition to the festive hampers, Jean-Paul Hévin’s delicious Whole Fruit Cake (HK$220) is  a perfect gift to celebrate the Chinese New Year, giving a French twist to the traditional Chinese puddings which is a staple during celebrations of the lunar year.  Available in two fruit flavours, including pineapple with fig, and dried assorted fruits, Jean-Paul Hévin’s fruit cake is golden brown in colour, and mirrors the rectangular shape of the Chinese sweet rice pudding, ensuring that his French interpretation of this classical dish remains within the bounds of Chinese tradition.

Jean-Paul Hévin celebrates the Lunar New Year of the Goat in-store as well, with a seasonal menu “Chinese New Year Duo Gourmand” (HK$128) consisting of Alain Milliat Orange Juice and a slice of Jean-Paul Hévin’s signature JFK orange cake – a soft dark chocolate almond and ginger biscuit filled with an orange chocolate mousse.

Jean-Paul Hévin’s Lunar New Year collection is available at its Lyndhurst Terrace and Tsim Sha Tsui flagship stores, as well as a special pop-up store in Sogo Department Store.
