Fluid geometric shapes. Soft curves and optical effects with a contemporary twist.
In the Gianvito Rossi Spring-Summer 2013 collection, elements of seduction include an unusual interpretation of three-dimensionality. Empty spaces create volume while solids, in contrast, appear extremely light and dissolve into a seductive woven web of soft nappa, satin, and suede.
The airy surfaces of stiletto sandals become the fabric on which precious embellishments are applied.Bands with pointelle details hug the foot and circle the ankle. Precise cut-outs create sharp lines on transparent surfaces and lingerie laces. Meanwhile, a harmonious and daring sequence of rounded straps linked by metal rings turns the strappy sandal into a sort of bootie that is the perfect footwear for modern Aphrodites.
These contemporary goddesses also adore optical effects. Icy white and total black are the predominant colors of the entire collection and are paired up with nude beige, red and gold in the most elegant styles. Dark brown and splashes of liquid colors like citron or aquamarine dominate daywear and are combined with Capri blue accents.
Stark black and white are indispensable tools for expressing a world of lines and geometric figures shaped to accompany a feminine silhouette. Gladiator sandals – flat or with stiletto heels – totally rock due to the curved straps that sinuously climb up the leg. Sandals with ankle straps adorned with metal buckles are scorching hot, too. Soft hues represent a more subtle feminine world full of curves and floral touches such as delicate petal details hidden on the heel.
The luxurious, sophisticated aesthetic of the entire collection achieves sublime heights with sleek pumps and open-toe shoes with higher heels that are extended at the back to create a vision of modern femininity.
