Ready for another round of spooky delights, neighborhood Nordic cafe Hjem brings back their sought-after Halloween Afternoon Tea from the previous year, this time for a week from 28 October to 4 November due to popular demand.
Hjem’s tea set is a family-friendly Halloween happening, with their latest afternoon tea menu seeing a spooky makeover with the addition of new baked goods. Upon tasting a savory selection of signature smørrebrød (Arctic Prawns and Slow-Roasted Pork Belly), guests can enjoy the Cookie Monster – a buckwheat chocolate cookie – alongside the Lingonberry Cupcake and the timeless Cinnamon & Cardamom Bun that also sees a ghostly revamp for the occasion. Gracing the final tiers of the tea set are the Traditional Norwegian Waffle, the Brown Cheese & Jam Toast, and a seasonal berry posset to conclude with some sweet and refreshing flavors.
Designed for two to share, the Halloween Afternoon Tea begins at $528 per pair, inclusive of one tea of choice each and a Pumpkin Spice Latte each. For those wanting a boozy upgrade can opt for the $588 per pair menu, which includes one tea of choice each and a Halloween cocktail, Blinding Lights, each.
While included in the afternoon tea set menu, everyone’s seasonal favorite Pumpkin Spice Latte (HK$58) sees a welcome return for a longer period of 28 October until the end of the year, with Hjem’s version being created with a homemade brown sugar spiced syrup, espresso, pumpkin spice, milk and finished with some sprinkles. The Blinding Lights, Hjem’s Halloween tipple is a Campari cocktail, with lingonberries, lemon, Arctic lingonberry liqueur, orange bitters, and cherry soda – a striking, scarlet-colored drink fit for the occasion, available just for the period of 28 October to 4 November alongside the Halloween Afternoon Tea.
While the occasion is one of Hong Kong’s favorite holidays to celebrate, Hjem provides the perfect option for those wanting to do Halloween with wholesome bakes in good company. With the Halloween Afternoon Tea available for a whole week this year instead of just the weekend, diners can take their time to enjoy the spirit of the holiday in leisurely fashion.
Hjem’s afternoon tea is available everyday from Tuesday to Sunday, 3-6pm (closed on Mondays).
