This October, Island Shangri-La invites families to step into a whimsical wonderland where Halloween gets a magical twist. Returning for the third consecutive year, this colourful programme of family-friendly games, activities and gastronomic delights is the perfect way to celebrate the season. Prices range from HK$680 per family to enter the Best Dressed Contest, to HK$898 for two adults and one child to join the Pumpkin Carving at cafe TOO.
The Halloween Parade & Games: A Visual Treat & Endless Fun
Amplifying the Halloween atmosphere, a grand parade will wind its way through the Main Lobby, Lobby Lounge, and cafe TOO on the 21st, 22nd, 28th to 31st October. A visual spectacle complete with fantastical characters and dreamlike setups, children will delight at meeting Mr Mad Hatter and friends as they weave their way through the hotel. A Trick or Treat extravaganza will take place on 28th and 29th October, from 3 to 6 p.m. Participating children will be given a stamp book and illustrated map to complete various tricks or treats, to be rewarded with stamps, gifts and candy. On 28th October from 3 to 6 p.m., an illusionary face painting artist will be stationed on Level 6 of the hotel. The Trick or Treat extravaganza and Halloween Parade are free of charge.
The Whimsical Best Dressed Contest 2023: Unleash Your Imagination
Held on the 28th of October at the Lobby Lounge, the Best Dressed Contest is the crowning jewel of our Halloween celebrations which has been a huge success in the past. The family-friendly contest champions the spirit of imagination. Families are encouraged to partake, bringing their collective creativity to the forefront. With a ticket priced at HK$680 for two adults with kids, every attendee not only stands a chance to win the grand prize but is also gifted a goody bag, photographs of the memorable event, and access to an exclusive array of food and beverages at the Lobby Lounge.
The Grand Prize for Best Overall Costume is valued over HK$14,000 or 38,000 Shangri-La Circle points and includes a 1-night stay experience in one of Island Shangri-La’s newest Family Suites. The Best Dressed Family and Best Dressed Couple respectively stand a chance of taking home prizes that include a 1-night stay experience in a Family Suite, a festive lunch at cafe TOO or a signature 90-minute massage at YUN WELLNESS.
cafe TOO: Step into Wonderland
For the entirety of October, cafe TOO metamorphoses into the epicentre of Halloween festivities. Drawing inspiration from the fantasy of ‘Alice in Wonderland’, the restaurant receives a fanciful decor upgrade that amplifies as Halloween draws near. Over weekends, a series of attractions await, including the Mr. Mad Hatter costume parade, face painting, magic shows, and balloon artists.
Guests can begin or end the day with an unforgettable dining experience, with lunch priced at HK$498, brunch at HK$798, and dinner at HK$848 per guest. There’s something for every palate, with highlights including Chaozhou Style Steamed Market Seafood, Cooked Scottish Crab and Boston Lobster on ice, a carving station with Roasted Prime Beef and Roasted Tenderloin, and a dessert station featuring seasonal treats such as Pumpkin Pie, Pecan Tart and Halloween Donuts.
Pumpkin Carving: A Family Tradition
A much-anticipated event is the pumpkin carving session at cafe TOO, a show of Island Shangri-La’s commitment to family traditions. From the 27th to 31st October, cafe TOO is hosting a pumpkin farm where families can craft their unique jack-o’-lanterns. Priced at HK$898 for a family of two adults and one child, which includes one large pumpkin for carving and snacks, this activity promises a day filled with cherished memories.
#FindYourShangriLa at Lobby Lounge with Magical Afternoon Tea Experience
From the 23rd through to the 31st of October, the magic unfolds at the Lobby Lounge. Served aboard “The Shangri-La Wonderliner” tram, a specially curated afternoon tea set featuring delights such as a Roasted Pumpkin Tart and Cassis Mont Blanc is on offer, complemented by a range of Shangri-La signature teas. For those with a penchant for a spirited twist, there are tea-infused cocktails, which traverse the rich tapestry of cocktail history, from the 1950s right up to today. This enchanting experience is available for HK$948 for two.
