Limited to 500 pieces, the Portugieser Automatic 42 Year of the Horse (Ref. IW501709) features a slender 42-millimetre stainless steel case, elegant box-shaped sapphire crystals on the front and back, and a burgundy dial inspired by the auspicious red tones widely used in Lunar New Year celebrations. The watch further makes a statement with the gold-plated rotor in the shape of a galloping horse, a charming design detail highly visible through the sapphire glass case back to fully celebrate the vitality of the Lunar New Year.

Inside, the IWC-manufactured 52011 calibre’s efficient Pellaton winding system features components made of virtually wear-free ceramic for a power reserve of 168 hours (7 days). Delivered with a choice of two straps for added versatility: a black alligator leather strap and an additional burgundy alligator leather strap, both easily fitted with the included stainless steel folding clasp.

Originally developed by IWC Schaffhausen’s former head watchmaker in the 1980s, the iconic perpetual calendar complication has been continuously perfected over the years and was introduced to the Portugieser collection two decades ago to much acclaim. Elegantly ushering in a prosperous Lunar New Year, the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 44 (Ref. IW503704) features an 18-carat white gold case, Dune coloured dial, with gold-lated hands and gold appliques, presented with a black alligator leather strap from Santoni. Elaborately finished with 15 layers of transparent lacquer and polished to a high gloss, the dials emanate tremendous visual depth.

IW324903) is a compact automatic model offering the same enhanced ergonomics and highly detailed finishing of the collection’s 40-millimetre version in a refined 18-carat 5N gold 35-millimetre case with a thickness of just 9.44 millimetres. Revisiting the emblematic design of Gérald Genta’s Ingenieur SL (Ref. 1832) from the 1970s, this luxury sports watch boasts an integrated bracelet, intricately framed date window, elaborately crafted gold-coloured dial with characteristic “Grid” pattern consisting of small lines and squares, solid gold appliques and gold-plated hands among its standout features.
