Spring Summer 2016 Collection “ L O R E L E I ”
KATHY LAM STUDIO Spring Summer 2016 collection titling “Lorelei”, the name was taken from Cocteau Twins album “Treasure” (1984). Inspired by Cocteau Twins – a Scottish band that active from the late 70s-90s, dreamscape instrumentation and lead singer Elizabeth Fraser’s distinctive vocal, especially in glossolalia and mouth music and multimedia artist Heath West’s floral series artworks – creates intricate work that twisting on the structure and transformation of space.
From Cocteau Twins instrument heavens, classic and feminine numbers are add to the line. Fitted bodice and A-line shape dress, organza shift pleat insert dress, double inverted organza pleat contrast with satin twill and geometric star patchworks on lucid silk organza. Eastern impact are combine with the neat silhouette, V-neck see-through collar, cross neck details, drop shoulder easy fit jacket with wrap fastening, longer-line side slits and wide A-line pants.
This season prints are blurry and distortion. Influence by Cocteau Twins Glossolalia style dreamy music and Heath West digital artwork, the fresh Lilies are randomly amplify and turbulence. Not to forget to mention SS16 collaboration with Tasteless Hat Co. Classic Panama hat are add to the collection. Colors are tranquil, whisper white, Lily white, chambray, vintage indigo and classic blue. Satin twill, sheer and medium weight silk organza and silk cotton striped broadcloth all contribute to a look that is refreshingly elegant yet entrenched with blurred patterns.
