The softly structured Needle bag symbolises the precision of needlework in Loro Piana’s legacy, crafted from a single piece of leather and constructed seamlessly.

Photographed by French photographer Charles Negre, the softly lit imagery features a mix of full-length and cropped pictures that highlight the distinctive features, craftsmanship, and refined details of each bag, all united by incredible savoir-faire.

The images also emphasise Loro Piana’s connection to design. The bags, in fact, are photographed atop a selection of sculptures and objects by renowned French artist Alexandre Noll, celebrated for his unique contribution to the craft of wood and one-of-a-kind furniture design. The bags are in dialogue with the sculptures, in seamless harmony. The pieces selected, created in the 1950s, a period when his art reached its peak, serve as original props in a fluid harmony of shapes and matter. In Noll’s hands, wood sheds its functional role to become pure artistic expression. Since the 1930s, the self-taught French sculptor has explored a range of forms, all directly carved in wood. Each piece exalted knots, veins, and natural imperfections as signs of beauty. This same respect for raw materials resonates at Loro Piana, where the artisans’ vision and expertise guide and uphold its core values.
