Loro Piana featuring Hiroshi Fujiwara Collection

Day @COLLAR, Tyson Yoshi, Jeffrey Ngai, Jeannie Ng (Kayan 9896) and Endy Chow Stuns in  Loro Piana featuring Hiroshi Fujiwara Spring Summer 2022 Collection  Showcasing an aesthetic urban edgy spirit

Loro Piana debuts a new chapter of their journey with the Loro Piana featuring Hiroshi Fujiwara Collection presented during the introduction of the new Spring Summer 2022 Collection. In celebration of the new launch, Loro Piana invited Day @COLLAR, Tyson Yoshi, Jeffrey Ngai, Jeannie Ng (Kayan 9896) and Endy Chow to feature in and discover the essence of the streetwear concept with the Maison’s sophistication and savoir faire in fabric design. These rising stars and rare talents encapsulate the edgy spirit with a creative attitude, demonstrating the diversity and originality of this meaningful collaboration.

Designer and musician, Hiroshi Fujiwara puts his many talents to work in a diverse range of spheres. In this case, his unique vision – one of the most influential in contemporary fashion history – dissolves distances and cultural differences, taking Loro Piana’s inimitable finely-crafted tradition into the future in an innovative way. The result: genderless, functional, comfortable, sophisticated, clean-lined garments and accessories in perfect harmony with the purity intrinsic of Japanese culture and the timeless elegance of the Italian maison.

The second ‘Loro Piana featuring Hiroshi Fujiwara’ Collection is made up of dynamic clothes and essential accessories: the distinctive colour palette – white, black and navy blue – is typical of the designer, while the superior quality of the cozy fabrics and the attention to every detail is characteristic of Loro Piana. An example is the soft sweater in a sustainable evolution of the classic summer silk/cotton blend with a modern, original Breton stripe that gives it a refined-yet-sporty look.

The multicoloured-stripe pattern inspired by the suitcases used by Loro Piana sales representatives to carry fabric samples between the 1970s and ‘90s is featured on a few pieces that are also a tribute to Fujiwara’s artistic path. The relaxed tracksuit in a type of exclusive wool fabric usually used for tailored clothes, the cotton jersey hoodies with a maxi logo on the front – Loro Piana’s signature “graffiti-ized” by Fujiwara – , and the Stripe Tote Bag, roomy enough to hold vinyl LPs.

A highlight of the accessories collection is the large polka-dot carré scarf in cashmere and silk, and the classic cotton t-shirt boasts a print of a vicuña, Loro Piana’s animal symbol, designed by the artist Ulala Imai. A perfect blend of the two aesthetic realms is the oversized trench: the detail of a hood that folds into the collar is borrowed from the maison’s iconic Traveller Jacket, and the innovative combination of Wind microfibre, cotton jersey and the Storm System® membrane shows Loro Piana savoir-faire, while the clean-lined minimalism is the designer’s hallmark.
