O’rm Brings Refined Korean Dining to Soho
A Jeju Island-inspired escape with shareable dishes and artisanal Korean spirits,
blending tradition and modernity in a cozy, vibrant 20-seat haven
O’rm, a new and intimate dining destination in Soho, has officially opened its doors, offering guests an elevated take on Korean cuisine. With a cozy 20-23 seat setup and a walk-in-only policy, O’rm delivers an experience that is as refined and trendy as it is authentic and welcoming. Boasting a focus on impeccable service, O’rm aims to redefine high-casual dining with its unique blend of modern Korean dishes, artisanal Korean drinks and beverages, and a vibrant atmosphere set to the smooth beats of Korean city pop.
The masterminds behind O’rm—Owner Chef Junwoo Choi, Beverage Director Ted Ko, and Marketing and Curatorial Director Stella Yim—bring a wealth of expertise and passion to this new venture. Jun, formerly the Executive Chef at the renowned Korean suljib OBP, and Ted, Director of KAVE Group, known for distributing traditional Korean high-quality liquors in Hong Kong, have combined their expertise to create a space that embodies Korean hospitality while celebrating both food and culture. Stella, owner of The Stroll Gallery and also a Director at KAVE Group, brings her artistic vision and a refined, trendy Korean cultural edge to complement the two talents.
At the heart of O’rm is its name and philosophy. Inspired by the volcanic mountain peaks of Jeju Island, “O’rm” symbolizes the island’s heritage and its role as a muse for creatives. For Jun, the Orms of Jeju are a source of culinary inspiration, drawn from visits to his family on the island. The name also carries a second meaning—”come up”—reflecting the spirit of discovery in Hong Kong’s Soho district and the warm invitation to explore O’rm before ascending to Soho’s iconic peaks.
Guests will discover an open kitchen setup with a select 6-8 seats at the chef’s table, allowing diners a front-row view of the artistry behind every dish. Reservations for these coveted seats can be made via direct message. Every guest is welcomed with a thoughtful touch—a complimentary rice wine taster accompanies any food order, further enhancing the convivial dining experience.
O’rm’s drinks menu is as thoughtfully curated as its cuisine, spotlighting an impressive collection of 60 traditionally crafted Korean spirits. Selections range from fresh yuzu rice wine to the innovative Won Soju by Jay Park, along with Korean sake and boutique natural wines like Koyberpunk Field Blend Cabernet Sauvignon. Guests can also enjoy Japanese whisky and Hong Kong’s finest craft beers, ensuring there’s something to please every palate.
With its focus on detail, service, and flavor, O’rm is set to become a neighborhood favorite, combining Seoul-style vibrancy with the charm of Hong Kong.
