Posto Pubblico Goes Back to its Roots with a Plant-Based Menu

Hong Kong’s Original Farm-to-Table Restaurant Celebrates Organic Hong Kong Produce with a New Meat-Free Offering

Hong Kong’s original farm-to-table restaurant and all-time favorite Italian-American osteria, Posto Pubblico, will launch a new plant-based menu on 23rd May.

The plentiful menu by homegrown Posto Pubblico Executive Chef Jay Cataplang, who first joined the Red Sauce Hospitality Group as a line cook back in 2009, features a range of inventive vegan and vegetarian dishes, which range from antipasti to desserts.

Creative dishes like the vegan Beet Carpaccio (HK$108) with Calabrian chili, mint, pine nut aioli and red onion, and Fried Enoki Mushrooms (HK$128) showcase some of Hong Kong’s finest locally-grown and organic ingredients and promise to tempt even the most die-hard meat-lovers.

Known first and foremost for its incredible Italian-American pastas, it’s no surprise that two new vegan macaroni creations will launch at the end of this month. The bright and flavorful Homemade Orecchiette(HK$158) with green garlic and broccoli rabe pesto, preserved lemon, sundried tomato and chili, and hearty Eggplant Bolognese (HK$168) are the ultimate comfort foods and are packed with ingredients sourced from Hong Kong’s own Zen Farms. The eggless pastas are completely free of animal products without compromising on texture and are sure to become the talk of the town for those looking for an entirely plant-based meal.

Creative dishes like the Pizza Puttanesca (HK$188), served in Posto Pubblico’s signature skillet, deliver all the flavors of the seafood-laden sauce by supplementing anchovies with salty, crisp and hard-to-come-by sea beans, while plates like the Impossible Balls (HK$158) substitute veal for Silicon Valley’s most famous lab-grown meat alternative – Impossible Foods.

Posto Pubblico’s new dessert will delight vegans and carnivores alike. The Banana Nutella Ice-Cream (HK$48) is served with toasted hazelnuts, homemade sweetened vegan butter, and freshly-baked Ciabatta.

The renowned SoHo eatery will celebrate the launch of the new plant-based menu with a special dinner on 23rd May. For only HK$388 (+10%) guests can be the first to tuck into a four-course menu of meat-free delights with an optional wine pairing (HK$100 +10%).

Posto Pubblico’s new plant-based menu will be available a la carte for both lunch and dinner from 23 May 2019.
