PRU, Phuket’s first and only Michelin-starred restaurant and Château Palmer Present an Exclusive Wine Dinner

PRU, Phuket’s first and only Michelin-starred restaurant, is delighted to announce an extraordinary wine dinner event on 15th July, presented in collaboration with Château Palmer, one of Bordeaux’s most prestigious Third Growths. Meticulously curated in partnership with The Wine Merchant, Thailand’s premier fine wine distributor and retailer, this exclusive evening promises an unforgettable fusion of exquisite gastronomy and world-class wines.

Located beside the luxurious Trisara Resort, PRU is led by Executive Chef Jimmy Ophorst, who has reimagined fine dining in Phuket with his pioneering “community-to-fork” philosophy in an open kitchen setting. Celebrated for its unwavering commitment to sustainability, PRU sources ingredients from its own organic farm, Pru Jampa, while fostering collaborations with local artisans. Guests are invited to embark on a unique culinary journey, where the finest Thai ingredients are expertly transformed into extraordinary, artfully crafted dishes.

The evening begins with a refined pre-dinner reception in the lounge, where guests will be greeted with a welcome glass of champagne and canapes, setting the tone for the culinary adventure ahead. The six-course set menu, paired with an exquisite selection of Château Palmer wines, is designed to take guests on a remarkable gastronomic journey.

The first course, “King of the Fruits,” is paired with Alter Ego de Palmer 2019, a vibrant wine offering lush dark berries, violets, and a silky, approachable texture. Following this, “Mackerel & Makhwaen Pepper” is complemented by Château Palmer 2017, an elegant vintage showcasing red plum, floral lift, and graphite notes.

The third course, “Lotus Root & Shrimp Paste,” is elevated by Château Palmer 2009, an opulent and seductive wine rich with ripe black fruit, dark chocolate, and exotic spices. Next, “Squid & Blue Cheese” finds its perfect match in Château Palmer 2007, a refined vintage with notes of red berries, dried rose, cedar, and sweet tobacco.

For the penultimate savory course, “Aged Duck & Tamarind” is paired with Château Palmer 2005, a classic and structured vintage that exhibits depth with cassis, graphite, truffle, and floral undertones. The journey concludes with “Mariam Plum & Phuket Pineapple”, a vibrant and refreshing dessert crafted to delight and awaken the palate.

This exclusive event is priced at THB 10,990++ per person. To provide an intimate and tailored experience, seating is offered in staggered time slots at 6:00 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7:00 PM, with limited availability for each session.
