REGENT TAIPEI WELCOMES PRODIGY CHEF FLYNN MCGARRY

This amazing young chef, a future Michelin star will be at the fabulous Regent for a 3 day pop up event that will present refined and contemporary American cuisine

Regent Taipei is proud to welcome the 17-year-old culinary prodigy Flynn McGarry to helm its kitchen from 1 to 3 September 2016. McGarry, who started his career at the tender age of 10 cooking for family and friends, became the youngest honoree on Zagat’s 30 under 30 Los Angeles list in 2014, and was named one of the top 25 most influential teens from Time Magazine.

At Regent Taipei, McGarry will present guests with his take on contemporary American cuisine at the hotel’s renowned Robin’s Grill steakhouse. Guests may opt for a five-course set lunch menu at NT$3,800 per person, or indulge in an exclusive eight-course set dinner, inclusive of selected wines at NT$8,800 per person.

In celebration of this unique gastronomic collaboration, Regent Taipei will also be launching an exclusive ‘Dine with Flynn McGarry’ room package. The package includes a one-night stay in a lavish Deluxe Room, a sumptuous breakfast buffet at Brasserie, and an exquisite five-course set lunch cooked personally by the celebrity guest chef, priced at NT$6,999 per person.

Fuelled by his passion for food, McGarry first began his culinary journey at the age of ten by serving up his creations to family and friends. By twelve, he started to host larger parties, preparing his personally curated tasting menus at EUREKA, a supper club he operated out of his mother’s home in Studio City, Los Angeles.

In the following years, McGarry continued to develop his skillset securing apprentice roles at some of the world’s most distinguished restaurants, including Alinea and Next in Chicago, and the highly acclaimed Eleven Madison Park in New York, under the tutelage of Michelin-starred master chefs like Grant Achatz and Daniel Humm. By the age of fourteen, he had attracted the attention of BierBeisl’s owner, Bernhard Mairinger, and was invited to relocate EUREKA to Beverly Hills as a monthly pop-up restaurant. Since then, he has been steadily building his reputation in the culinary world and continues to bring his creative cooking concepts to Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York.

Bolstered by his growing collection of experiences, as well as the unwavering support of esteemed professionals everywhere, it is evident McGarry is only just beginning to make his mark on the culinary world.
