Roger Vivier’s new Viv’ Up sneaker represents a bold exploration of mid-century aesthetics, merging Space Age inspirations to deliver a modern, lightweight design. Characterized by its voluminous yet airy structure, the Viv’ Up embodies an elevated comfort concept, drawing on EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) for its signature sole. Known for its significant reduction in weight compared to traditional rubber, EVA enables a soft yet resilient cushioning effect, creating a near weightless experience with each step.
The sneaker’s silhouette adopts cocoon-like contours with soft convex curves, offering both an ergonomic fit and visual appeal, invoking the sensation of walking on air. Padded lambskin Nappa further enhances the shoe’s aesthetic, imparting a ‘puffy’ texture that combines elegance with tactile softness. This oversized form with rounded geometry recalls the retro-futuristic allure of 1960s space design, reimagined with contemporary sensibility by Creative Director Gherardo Felloni.
Offered in three color options—white, silver, and pink—the Viv’ Up sneaker is available in two variations. The first with the Maison’s iconic crystal-encrusted buckle which showcases smooth, refined lines, while the second buckle-free iteration features added padding across its band. In both versions, the simple lace-less design remains a unifying element, balancing the shoe’s distinctive aesthetic with functionality.
For the winter season, the Viv’ Up collection includes a bootie version, designed with the same dedication to comfort and style. This padded bootie, available in versatile beige and classic black, incorporates a mini crystal-covered buckle that elegantly adjusts its closure, adding a touch of sparkle to the cozy silhouette. Paired with the Viv’ Choc Royal bag, which mirrors the shoe’s soft, curved lines and colours, the Roger Vivier look achieves a cohesive aesthetic that radiates joie de vivre.
