FUKUOKA, JAPAN – Located in Momochihama, a premier seaside district approximately 20 minutes by car from Fukuoka Airport, the hotel sits alongside some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including Mizuho PayPay Dome Fukuoka, Fukuoka Tower, and the Fukuoka City Museum. The 20-storey hotel features 229 guest rooms, all with uninterrupted ocean views, overlooking Hakata Bay, the Genkai Sea, and the evolving city skyline—offering dramatic scenery from sunrise through to illuminated night views. Designed as an urban resort, Fukuoka Prince Hotel Momochihama offers a tranquil retreat from the city centre while remaining fully connected to Fukuoka’s cultural, sporting, and commercial hubs.

All 229 rooms average a generous 32m2, providing a relaxed residential feel. Rooms accommodate up to three guests, making the hotel ideal for both leisure travellers and small groups. The upper floors feature exclusive Club Floor accommodations, including two types of spacious suites. The Retreat Suite offers a standout experience, with bathrooms and terraces that open directly onto panoramic ocean views—blending Japanese serenity with an international resort sensibility. Located on the top floor, the Club Lounge is among the largest in Fukuoka, reserved exclusively for Club Floor guests. With indoor and outdoor terrace seating, guests can enjoy light refreshments while feeling the sea breeze and watching the sky and ocean shift throughout the day.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, YOCATERRACE, is an all-day dining venue defined by its open-air terrace overlooking Hakata Bay. Led by Executive Chef Tomoharu Shikatani, the menu is rooted in French culinary techniques while celebrating Kyushu’s exceptional local produce. Guests can expect refined yet approachable dishes, alongside classic Prince Hotel heritage recipes—creating a dining experience unique to Momochihama. The name YOCATERRACE combines “Yoka”, meaning “good” in the local Hakata dialect, with the restaurant’s defining terrace concept—reflecting the hotel’s desire to become a beloved gathering place for both locals and visitors. With Signature dining during sunset “TerrACE Hour,” inspired by the colours of the sea and sky will be favoured by local residents and international guests.

The lobby is anchored by a striking large-scale mural titled “Prince of the Ocean”, created by acclaimed Hakata doll artisan Hiromine Nakamura. Composed of hundreds of reliefs shaped like marine life, the artwork fuses Fukuoka’s coastal heritage, Japanese craftsmanship, and contemporary beach culture. An AR experience allows guests to interact digitally with the mural, creating a new form of immersive storytelling. Adjacent to the lobby is YOCASTAND, a casual café open to hotel guests and the public alike. With dog-friendly terrace seating, it serves as a relaxed stop for morning walks along the beach or a casual coffee break by the sea.
The hotel was designed by Gensler, one of the world’s leading architectural and design firms.
Under the concept “Beachside Breeze,” the design draws the outdoors inward—using arched forms, soft textures, and natural light to evoke a sense of calm, openness, and connection to the sea. Throughout the hotel, guests experience a seamless flow from urban comfort to beachfront relaxation.
