Seoul Rocks The Dining Scene With Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura
Seoul is set to welcome the fourth global Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura on March 28th 2022. Located on the top floor of the Gucci Goak flagship store in the district of Itaewon, this will herald the contemporary Italian restaurant’s third global outpost outside of Italy, after Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, USA and Gucci Namiki in Ginza, Tokyo.
Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura are contemporary restaurants with the same values and principles under one Gucci Osteria umbrella. Adding creativity, elegance, playfulness and sensuality to traditional Italian cuisine, guests in Seoul will enjoy a unique dining experience that will also incorporate the diversity and identity of its location.
Gucci Osteria Seoul opens its official website for advanced bookings from today at 10am CET and will introduce a menu that brings both Italian and Korean cultures together. Guests will be able to make a reservation ahead of the restaurant opening. The restaurant will welcome guests through a dedicated street-level entrance, seating 28 guests in the main dining room and 36 on the terrace, serving lunch, dinner, and Italian aperitivo.
The menus have been developed by internationally acclaimed chef Massimo Bottura (owner of 3 Michelin Starred Osteria Francescana, voted The World’s Best Restaurant in 2016 and 2018); Karime Lopez, Executive Chef of Gucci Osteria Florence, (awarded one Michelin Star in 2020) together with Seoul Executive Chef Hyungkyu Jun and Head Chef Davide Cardellini.
The à la carte menu will include Gucci Osteria signature dishes such as the legendary Emilia Burger and Tortellini with Parmigiano Reggiano Cream. There will also be creative takes on Italian-centred dishes and new seasonal Korean-inspired creations. These will include Seoul Garden and Summer in Adriatic.
Massimo explains: “There is an invisible thread that runs through each of the Gucci Osteria globally: one that entwines Italian food with the food and produce of other great global cuisines. Korea – like Italy – embraces its food as part of its culture, and I’m so excited to welcome everyone to our Seoul outpost”.

A wide variety of drinks will also be available, including a wine list of almost 200 bins and a cocktail offering.
The carefully crafted interiors at Gucci Osteria Seoul take inspiration from the original Florence outpost, with references to the Italian Renaissance and the eclectic mix of aesthetics embraced by Gucci. On arrival at the entrance, guests will be immersed in the vibrant green palette that defines the space, from the woodwork panelling to the Georgian bar patio doors framing the terrace, evoking the atmosphere of winter gardens. In the main room, a sumptuous banquette and chairs in peacock green velvet complement the ebonised dining tables, while harmoniously contrasting with the bright view on the terrace.
Following a similar design aesthetic to Gucci Osteria Tokyo, the recurring symbolism of the star is prominent. It appears in the ceiling lights of the hall, the artisanal inlaid parquet flooring, and the colourful marble mosaic of the terrace – a playful unique feature defining the restaurant.
In addition, hidden behind stained-glass doors is an opulent private dining room hosting up to 8 guests. Named Room of Mirrors, the space features ornate antique wall mirrors, ebonised boiserie and the radura wallpaper from the Gucci Décor collection, providing a truly intimate and exclusive dining experience.
