Seven of Belmond’s most iconic properties have been recognised in The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025. Copacabana Palace, A Belmond Hotel, Rio de Janeiroand Maroma, A Belmond Hotel, Riviera Maya have been ranked No.11 and No.33 respectively, while Hotel Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice; Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town, Hotel das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel, Iguassu Falls; Splendido, A Belmond Hotel, Portofino; and Palacio Nazarenas, A Belmond Hotel, Cusco secured a place in the extended 51–100 list. The third edition of The World’s 50 Best Hotels has been announced at a captivating awards ceremony in London and features industry-defining hotels spanning six continents worldwide.

Belmond’s inclusions mark a number of key achievements with Copacabana Palace winner of the Best Hotel in South America and Lavazza Highest New Entry Award in the Top 50; whilst the extended 51-100 list features Mount Nelson, Hotel das Cataratas, and Palacio Nazarenas as the only hotels from Africa, Brazil and Peru, along Hotel Cipriani, the highest-ranking hotel in Venice. Spanning four continents, these rankings reflect Belmond’s international presence.

The awards ceremony once again united the global travel and hospitality community to celebrate the world’s best hotels. Held at London’s iconic Old Billingsgate on the banks of the River Thames, the event showcased exceptional hotel experiences that will inspire consumers, travellers and hoteliers around the globe.

The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 was revealed as part of a live countdown from No.50 to No.1. The ranking is complemented by a host of special awards alongside the first ever 51-100 list and reflects the very best travel experiences around the globe, collated from the votes of 800 anonymous experts. This voting panel – the 50 Best Hotels Academy – comprises a balanced mix of hoteliers, travel journalists, educators and seasoned luxury travellers, led by a group of industry-leading Academy Chairs.
