Spasso, celebrates the outdoors and oysters throughout March, with the exciting unveiling of its al fresco terrace and launch of a mouth-watering oyster menu. The delicious selection of oysters are sourced directly from the world’s finest producers in France, Japan and Canada, and are served in a variety of ways including raw, baked, in special alcoholic shooters and in pairing packages on the new harbour-side terrace.
Every night from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Spasso enhances its aperitif moment with an al fresco ‘oyster discovery’ experience on the terrace. Nightly pairing packages of oysters and wines are available, selected each day by the chef and Camillo Migliavacca the restaurant manager. Spasso’s new terrace is the perfect place to unwind after work or meet before dinner while enjoying the spectacular views.
Meanwhile, the four oysters on offer on the a la carte menu are:
– The Gillardeau oyster from France: nutty and semi-salty
– The Tsarskaya, also from France: firm and meaty
– The Kumamoto oyster from Japan: fruity with briny undertones
– The Raspberry Point from Canada: clean and salty, with a surprisingly sweet finish.
For those who prefer a surprise, the Chef’s selection of a dozen raw oysters is perfect. These are served three ways: naturally, with only a little lemon, pesto or horseradish sauce; with a Thai Dressing (fish sauce, lime juice, chili, coriander and rice vinegar); or Chinese style, with ginger, spring onion and soy sauce.
Two types of baked oyster dishes are also on the new menu: the Kirkpatrick (pancetta, shallots, Worcestershire sauce and breadcrumbs au gratin); and the Florentine (with spinach, Hollandaise sauce and Parmesan cheese au gratin).
And to finish off a wonderful evening, Spasso recommends a special spirited shooter. All are made with the Japanese Kumamoto oyster. For those needing a little pick-me-up, choose the famous Bloody Mary (Grey Goose vodka, tomato juice, Tabasco and Yuzu). Gin lovers will adore the shooter made with Hendricks gin, cucumber and lime. And if Tequila is the tipple of choice, the Mexican always hits the spot (Tequila Patrons, lime, coriander and shallots).
All prices are subject to 10 per cent service charge.
