As Major Patron of the Paris Opera, the House of CHANEL has renewed its commitment by supporting
the Opening Gala of the dance season, held on 27th September 2025 at the Palais Garnier. CHANEL has
been accompanying this unmissable event since 2018, and since 2023, its role as Major Patron
illustrates the strength of this special relationship. Beyond this event, the House is actively supporting
the transmission and the future of dance by participating in the upcoming restoration of the Opera’s
four sites as well as accompanying the development of the Junior Ballet, a company established in 2024
to open up this artistic discipline to new profiles and new audiences.
This year, the Gala audience attended performances of Annabelle López Ochoa’s Requiem for a Rose
and the classic Giselle, followed by a dinner served in the Grand Foyer in the presence of the artists as
well as friends and ambassadors of the House.
During the traditional Défilé du Ballet, the Junior Ballet dancers appeared on the legendary stage of
the Palais Garnier for a second time. Alongside the Étoiles – whose tutus and tiaras were designed in
2021 by CHANEL in collaboration with the embroiderer Lesage – they wore costumes created specially
by the House and the Opera’s ateliers, enhanced by the work of feather and flower specialist Lemarié.
Each of the 12 tutus is hand-embellished with 300 pinches of ostrich feathers, while the corset is also
enhanced with feathers and finished with a white satin camellia embossed by hand.
By supporting this Gala, CHANEL is reaffirming its attachment to the Paris Opera and to young creativity.
Ever true to the spirit initiated by Gabrielle Chanel over a century ago, the House continues to
celebrate, along with the Opera, the scintillating dialogue between fashion and dance.
