The Ritz Carlton, Hong Kong

I am used to seeing Hong Kong from the ground up until recently when I checked into the Ritz Carlton Hong Kong, “The Tallest Hotel In The World”. What a mantle to have and what a splendid hotel it is as well.

Occupying floors 102 to 118 of the International Commerce Centre in Kowloon, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong offers 312 guest rooms all providing spectacular city and harbour views. The stylish and contemporary interiors are designed by Singapore’s LTW set the scene for this thoroughly modern hotel set in the heart of Hong Kong. The sense of arrival is breathtaking with views of Victoria Harbour and the iconic Hong Kong skyline as the backdrop. Guests are welcome into the arrival lobby on the 9th floor before being transported up to the hotel lobby on the 103rd floor where panoramic views over Hong Kong awaits them.

This has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed. I adore everything about it, from it’s luxurious sublime settings to it’s legendary service. For a fast pace city like Hong Kong, sometimes service can be forgotten but at The Ritz, no matter how preoccupied you are, you will take full notice of it and that is when you immerse yourself into the legendary Ritz Carlton experience.

The Club Lounge located on the 116th floor possesses an intimate, homey feel with the use of soft lighting, modern classic furniture, and shelves that resemble suitcases. The dark Brazilian marble floor with its bold quartz inserts is juxtaposed by the gleaming white marble countertops delicately streaked with orange and grey. Other striking elements include the mirrored columns near the windows that are etched with a metallic-finished fretwork pattern. At night, the result is a subtle, glittering reflection of the dynamic city.

My junior suite was just superb. Words are never enough to describe the wonderful view of Hong Kong it has.  The view exerts attention and you could just simply fall in love with it.  This is the epitome of hotel stays.

There are six restaurants in the hotel and Tosca, the Italian restaurant is a dining wonder. The ambience of this restaurant is unreal. A classy restaurant but at the same time it doesn't overwhelm you. My mouth watering grill sea bass with anchovies is simply delicious and a must to mention is my Creme Brûlée desert.

This iconic hotel has already made such a mega buzz for itself just  months after opening it's door. I am proud that we have the tallest hotel in the world in our backyard and even more ecstatic it’s the Ritz that sits atop and occupy this part of sky.

You don't have to stay here to experience one of the wonders of Hong Kong.  Have a drink at the ultra chic Ozone Bar on the118th storey or munch out and enjoy their famous brunch on a Sunday, if you have kids take them for some tantalizing deserts at the chocolate factory.

I will certainly make my way back to The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong and it will surely be a longer stay.
