Tod's SS 2011 Advertising Campaign


AN ITALIAN MOMENT The new Tod’s advertising campaign for Spring/Summer 2011, shot by photographer Kalle Gustafsson, playfully captures the interaction of a group of young internationals as they relax in and around Rome, experiencing “An Italian Moment” This candid portrayal of the spontaneous and easy-chic Italian lifestyle so associated with, and emblematic of, Tod’s iconic “Made in Italy” DNA and sophisticated flair, features beautiful backdrops such as Rome's Palazzo Ruspoli and Bar Della Pace, as well as Sabaudia's stunning Villa Volpi and the surrounding countryside and beaches of the area. Following Tod's celebratory '”Italian Touch'” photographic project a couple of years ago and the recent Elliot Erwitt Autumn/Winter 2010 campaign, these new Spring/Summer images continue the theme of old world tradition clothed in a distinctly contemporary Italian way.

This combination perfectly captures the essence of the Tod’s lifestyle. The campaign showcases this season’s collection and highlights the iconic D Bag in supple calfskin and the much-loved rainbow array of Gommino’s. New important additions to the range, such as the women’s Shirt Bag and the 24H Bag are also featured, alongside popular summer staples like loafers, sandals, ballerinas and lace-ups. The images are rich in the “Made in Italy” tradition, evoking a sense of luxurious quality and undeniable style. The new campaign stars an unexpected mixture of contemporary international “faces”: interior designers Clelia d’Aulan Benenati and Asia Baker; socialites Julie de Noailles, Valentina Scambia, Claiborne Swanson Frank and Wendy Ye Mingzi; photographer Albertina d’Urso; acclaimed makeup artist Gucci Westman; art collector Will Kopelman; interior architect Bastien Halard; banker Federico Floriani; and advertising director Andrea Arnaldi.
