Two New Hospitality Projects in Central, Hong Kong French Restaurant La Brasserie | Private Members Club Whale Club

A timeless design that connects La Brasserie and Whale Club while giving each their own distinctive identities

La Brasserie, a French restaurant, and Whale Club, an exclusive private members’ club, both opened in the first quarter and were designed by Steve Leung Hospitality Ltd. (SLH), a brand of the award-winning Steve Leung Design Group (SLD). Located on Lyndhurst Terrace in the bustling Soho area of Central, the neighborhood is perfect for people to gather, dine, and relax before or after work, as well as for young professionals to host corporate or private events. Two projects spread across two floors in the same building, each level offers a different and distinctive experience. The ground floor is home to La Brasserie, a community-oriented French restaurant focusing on authentic French cuisine. Tucked away on the first floor is the Whale Club, an exclusive private members’ club that serves as a community of like-minded individuals who are leaders and pioneers in their professions, as well as enthusiasts and connoisseurs of the finer things in life.

Whale Club, t
he private club consists of a discreet entrance, a boutique reception, an open bar area with various group seating options, and a spacious wine cellar with a striking wine display as its backdrop. The Whale Club is sophisticated, moody, and playful. On arrival, guests are greeted by a stunning staircase adorned with recessed lighting within the steps and handrail, leading from street level to a reception foyer with a striking black and white checkered floor. The entrance is accentuated by bronze-finish wallcovering, blue curtains, and a TV screen wall. Rich blue drapery highlights a wall of screens styled as framed works of art, while the opposite wall is decorated with a textured bronze wallcovering. The main flooring is timber floorboards, except for the black and white checker floor pattern at the reception area.
