Weekend Max Mara INTO THE FOREST A Weekend with Robert Rabensteiner

Milan, March 1, 2026 —Weekend Max Mara unveils its new Signature Collection, called “Into the Forest: A Weekend with Robert Rabensteiner”, an oxymoron of nature and city, of days in the Alps and evenings at cultural events.

This new FW 2026-27 project is co-created with Robert Rabensteiner, stylist and former fashion editor-at-large at L’ Uomo Vogue, widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the men’s wear industry and known for his signature eclectic elegance and insouciant style.

Into the Forest: A Weekend with Robert Rabensteiner is a carefully curated lifestyle collection for a woman who thrives at the intersection of two worlds, traveling from the mountain quietness to vibrant cultural circles in historic cities, seamlessly merging the two experiences.

Wrapped in the understated elegance of mountain tradition, the collection echoes Rabensteiner’s roots, with various elements flowing together spontaneously and naturally.

With her intellectual spirit, this woman loves nature in all its forms, from hiking in the woods to motorcycling or driving a camper.

“It’s the first thing that came to mind: a woman inviting her friends to gather around an exquisitely decorated table in the middle of the woods. It’s the most elegant thing you can do”, says Rabensteiner. “In general, the collection blends masculine and feminine elements, combining hyper-classic pieces with modern touches. ”

Overall, Rabensteiner masters the art of layering with a distinctive blend of folk, workwear, hiking attire, and evening glamour.

The inspiration of the collection also draws upon the classic elegance and resilience of traditional Austrian Alpine coats, reinterpreted by distilling their three key and distinctive elements: texture, with its iconic mélange effect, which also defines the new Pasticcino Bag and a cropped coat crafted from wool with an inverted box pleat; form, with the classic aesthetics of a coat with cup sleeves and an inverted pleat, translated into premium handsewn double wool in red and blue; and color through their typical green hue douses a modern jacket-and-pants ensemble.

Hand-sewn double-wool cloth is the fil rouge fabric that links the outerwear and dressier options, spanning a tent-shaped cape, a soft-shouldered bomber jacket, and a sleek shift dress. Dresses are slim, with full midi skirts, straight-legged pants, silk camisoles, and authentic fisherman’s sweaters completing the looks.

The color palette includes a base of green, navy blue, pale blue, and chestnut brown, livened up by vivacious shots of red, purple, and curry yellow in a mix of materials – sturdy cotton, Irish wools, leather, and sumptuous velvet details and silk.

Adding that unmistakable final touch are the accessories – the Pasticcino Bag in leather, in suede treated to evoke the iconic felted mélange effect, or in velvet in different sizes; velvet evening slippers, buckled boots, hiking-inspired performance booties, a Fedora hat, long cashmere gloves, and printed silk scarves.

Going beyond simply blending styles, the collection creates an essential, intellectually- driven wardrobe where each piece serves a dual purpose, enabling women to transition from introspective moments in nature to the cultural buoyancy of the city, all while maintaining consistent elegance – layer by layer.
