The Lasagna Factory Opens This August on Hollywood Road

– A New Home for Velvety Layers, Raucous Pasta‑Making Theatre and Big‑Bowl Nostalgia

On August 1st, The Lasagna Factory will open its doors at 208 Hollywood Road, bringing soulful comfort food, communal dining and a touch of theatrical flair to one of Hong Kong’s most storied streets. Created by the legendary team behind Flat Iron and Picanhas’, the Lasagna Factory is inspired by the cherished recipes of an Italian grandmother and promises to breathe fresh life into the area, reviving the convivial spirit that once made Hollywood Road a cultural and culinary landmark.

The Executive Chef channels childhood afternoons spent in the kitchen with his grandmother into every dish. The experience begins with starters that are as comforting as they are satisfying. Polpette (HK$88), a classic Italian Wagyu beef meatball in tomato ragu, is finished with aged parmesan and basil, while Tortellini alla Ragu (HK$98) is tossed in butter sauce with Bolognese, parmesan and fresh oregano. Nonna’s Garlic Bread (HK$78) arrives golden and crusty, with lashings of garlic butter, grated parmesan and chopped parsley.

At the heart of the menu are three signature traditional lasagnas: the Wagyu Short Rib Lasagna (HK$188), layered with 24-hour slow-braised beef and silky sheets of pasta; the Sand Crab Lasagna in vodka sauce (HK$188), a red sauce take on the classic that is sweet and rich with a hint of tang; and the Organic Mushroom Lasagna (HK$168), packed with earthy depth and fresh herbs. Other mains include two indulgent Little Italy classics: the Eggplant Parmesan (HK$138), featuring crisp aubergine cutlets baked with marinara, mozzarella, parmesan and basil; and the Chicken Parmesan (HK$148), which offers the same golden-crusted treatment with tender breaded chicken.

To round out the meal, endless bowls of vibrant salad bring balance to the table. The Mediterranean Green Salad (HK$78) combines garden greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, mint, green olives and a balsamic vinaigrette.

Desserts are unapologetically nostalgic. The Classic Tiramisu (HK$98) is scooped straight from the bowl and served tableside, just like at Nonna’s house. Seasonal House Made Gelato (HK$78) and Vanilla Panna Cotta (HK$78) also hit the sweet spot.

An abundant, value-driven set lunch (HK$128) offers a 200-gram serving of lasagna with free-flow salad, garlic bread and a refreshing lemon sorbet, a nod to the generosity and simplicity of home cooking, designed for the weekday crowd.

Not a fan of lasagna? Not to worry the sharing steaks made famous at Flat Iron Steak are also available at The Lasagna Factory. Guests can tuck into a 1kg Bistecca Alla Fiorentina (T-Bone) or the 1.2kg Costatat De Bistecca (Tomahawk) for $1098 for two.

Upstairs, the second floor is a bright, flexible event space with capacity for up to 100 guests or upwards of 200 for the entire venue. Designed for private bookings, celebrations and corporate events, it also hosts the restaurant’s ongoing pasta-making classes. Each session guides participants through the craft of hand-rolled pasta and rich Bolognese before culminating in a communal feast of lasagna, sides and dessert.

With its soulful menu, welcoming energy and reverence for classic comfort food, The Lasagna Factory is set to reignite the warmth and buzz of old Hollywood Road — one satisfying bowl at a time.
