Hillwood Road pasta bar Zozzona, known for their handmade pastas and intimate neighbourhood feel, is hosting a special two-night Kitchen Takeover on 15 and 16 April with Okinawa’s PASTAIONE.

Chef Teppei Zama, co-founder of PASTAIONE, will bring his expertise, translating Italian culinary tradition through his Japanese lens with precision, seasonal ingredients, and a casual, hands-on Okinawa pasta bar energy. His culinary journey spans Italy and Denmark, including training at the two-Michelin-starred Taverna Estia near Naples and opening his own Italian restaurant in Denmark.
The evening opens with a vibrant selection of antipasti, including Tagliatelle-style Calamaro with Okinawa squid, lemon zest, and squid ink powder, Tuna Tartare with olives, capers, mushrooms, and a crispy cracker, Jidori Chicken Liver Pâté with candied almonds, and Zeppole di Baccalà, featuring codfish fritters with Japanese fruit jam and mascarpone. Pasta courses follow, with Mezzi Paccheri ai Frutti di Mare, showcasing Japanese seafood and San Marzano tomatoes, alongside Pappardelle al Ragù di Agu Pork, enriched with Chianti and onions.

The secondi highlights a Bistecca di Manzo with Japanese beef sirloin, potato purée, and beef jus, before diners finish with Okinawa Tiramisu, made with mascarpone, cocoa, and Chinsukou — Okinawa’s signature cookie — for a dessert that perfectly blends Italian tradition with a local Japanese twist. Every dish reflects Chef Teppei’s dedication to authentic Italian technique through his Japanese lens, with flavours, textures, and presentations that celebrate the craft of pasta and seasonal ingredients.
For his Zozzona debut, Chef Teppei will bring that same energy, focus, and playful creativity to an intimate, limited-seating experience that invites guests to see pasta and Italian cuisine through his eyes. Reservations are limited for the two-night engagement, so advanced bookings are recommended to taste the dishes that define his vision, right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui.
